Los Angeles based jazz collective Sasha’s Bloc are releasing their latest single “Feels Like Jazz” off their latest CD release Heart on Fire, featuring the incomparable Grammy nominated singer Jane Monheit providing her signature sultry vocals.
A blend of contemporary and traditional 1920’s jazz, band leader Alex Gershman and Sasha’s Bloc will transport you back in time to the feel good times of the roaring ‘20s in this new single with its simple, conversational verses, polished production and standout solos from trumpeter Kye Palmer and guitarist Steve Cotter capturing the styles and excitement of the past.
With a big-band sound that recalls the vibe of New Orleans’ Preservation Hall Jazz Band infused with the blues, a hint of Gypsy Jazz, contemporary jazz and swing, Sasha’s Bloc have been playing to sold out shows across Southern California for the past two years and have developed a loyal following across the country.

Buck Sixx is a country/rock band that stems from generations of family musicians. They all started at an early age playing along with their dads, grandfathers, cousins and uncles. As musicians, they have played with lots of other bands, but the strong family bond has brought them back together to form Buck Sixx. They play original songs written by the band with a blend of Country/Rock. The combination of lyric and music continues to grow the band’s fan base. Brothers, cousins, and Friends they hail from Columbia, Tennessee, just forty miles south of Nashville.. “Buck Sixx’s debut record is one of the strongest freshmen records I’ve ever heard. There truly isn’t a bad song on the record and there isn’t a song that would turn fans off. Buck Sixx successfully showcases who they are as individuals, as a group, as musicians, as vocalists, and as songwriters and it’s a showcase that is uniquely fresh. It’s a package that will allow them to be recognized on many different avenues in the country music industry.” – Thatsmusictome.com

Join us this week as we celebrate the 6th year anniversary of our show and welcome The Como Brothers Band. Hailing from Long Island, NY., Matt and Andrew Como are songwriters and musicians that value organic music, musicianship, and songs with original integrity. Music is not a hobby of the brothers but a way of life and a career. Early in life, their father and his brothers would play at family parties. Growing up in this environment inspired them to play music, and it fast became a central part of their lives. In 2013, The Como Brothers Band took their previous experience and focused on approaching the industry with honest songs. It worked. They opened for major acts such as The Wallflowers, American Idol winner David Cook, and Jilian Jensen. In exciting news for 2015, they will be releasing their new EP album "Imagination". The new album is available for pre-order on itunes now. We will talk to Matt and Andrew about their upcoming schedule, get a behind the scenes look at their music, feature their latest songs, and ask them to share their message for the troops. Please be sure to visit The Como Brothers Band at http://www.comobrothersband.com/ and spread the word. Fans are welcome to call in and speak live with them during the show (718) 766-4193. If you would like to participate in the live chat during the show, you must sign up on the show site first and then log in during the show. And as always we will give shout outs to our deployed military listeners. Be sure to join us, Sunday 8/9/2015 at 4 PM EDT! Our message to the troops....WE do what we do, because YOU do what you do.
