Are you searching for ways to bring more happiness into your life? Would you like a free resource that will guide you, for an entire year, to help you accomplish this?
I had the opportunity to interview PositivePsychopedia.com's Kira Newman to talk about her new experiment, called the "Year of Happy."
As Kira puts it on her site:
Positive psychology, the science of happiness, is learning new things every day about how to bring more positive emotions and meaning to our lives. But the trick is sorting through the mess of sensational media headlines and dry academic papers and applying those lessons – can we do it?
In this course, each month of 2015 will focus on one skill or activity proven to make us happier, like optimism, relationships, meaning, and goals (see below). As we practice new life habits, we’ll also be learning through readings, videos, and discussions."
Kira is a digital journalist who has published over 1,300 articles on sites like The Huffington Post and Tech Cocktail. One of her earlier courses, The Honesty Experiment, was featured on Psychology Today and attracted participants from around the world.
If you're searching for more happiness, you'll want to make sure you catch this interview!

Join Candice Schwager and Kris Hood at 6:00 pm CST / 7:00 est as Beverly Newman shares a true miracle story with us in guardianship. Oxymoron? Not this time. The irony is baffling to the mind, but Beverly Newman's father, Al Katz, could escape the Nazi Holocaust only to end up in guardianship starving to death decades, later as he prepared for his golden years in Sunny Florida and ended up in guardianship gulag. Katz was literally within a few heart beats of death when God stepped in and brought him back from the brink. His loving daughter, Beverly, has an amazing story, that will leave you believing there's still HOPE for so many, possibly your family members. Beverly's story is remarkable. She paints a picture that is well over a 1000 words to take your breath away. Sunday is reserved for the ladies of iAdvocate Radio so join us gals! It's ladies night out!!!

VICTOR HAWKS (Writer/Producer) Originally from Chicago, Illinois, Victor Hawks made his way out East after high school to Washington DC, where he attended The Catholic University of America for Musical Theatre. Directly from college, he wanted to tackle the big stage so he moved to New York City. In a short time he booked his first Broadway show, joining the original company of “Urinetown the Musical.” From there he made Broadway his home for the next 10 years starring in shows like the Producers, playing the dream role of Jean Val Jean in “Les Miserables,” and playing Stewpot in the Tony Award winning revival of “South Pacific” at Lincoln Center.
Although Victor has a love for the stage, his true passion has always existed in writing TV and Film. During the Producer years, as he calls them, he started writing his first play, “Construction” (First draft 167 pages). Dozens of readings later, and a near brush with getting “Construction” produced on Broadway, he knew that the true audience for this piece was for the screen, so the play became a screenplay, and the rest is history. He met Angie Canuel, who was also in “The Producers” family, and the two of them worked tirelessly to get Construction to the big screen.
A few months later Victor, Angie, and Malcolm filmed “Construction” back in it's original home of New York City. The three formed Vision Vehicle Productions. Under the umbrella of Vision Vehicle productions, Victor wrote and produced PASS THE LIGHT. He is currently writing and developing over 8 films and 12 TV pilots.

Slide to the left Superhead!....Join us as UCOFW Associate, Senica Harris, interviews transgender author, law school graduate, advocate, and social light Toni New Man. She has a tell all book chronicaling her life and transformation from boy, to man, to transgender and her challenges and encounters along the way. In the tell-all book I Rise, The Transformation of Toni Newman, which is currently available for purchase, Newman talks about the journey from being born a little boy in North Carolina to working the New York streets as a “lady of the night.” During her days as a prostitute, Newman details alleged encounters with rapper LL Cool J, comedian Eddy Murphy, and Hot 97 DJ Mister Cee.
Here are excerpts from the book:
“LL Cool J was a onetime encounter and very enjoyable.”
“Mister Cee picked me up and many others for the sole purpose of receiving oral sex. Mister Cee was obsessive about receiving good head, and he was very verbal and very generous if you performed up to his expectations.”
“I never had an encounter with Eddie Murphy, but he was visiting 14th Street late at night. I know at least five transgender who did have sex with Eddie Murphy. He was interested in the girl with the biggest male genitalia.”
