Eating Vegan and Healthy Soul Food Cooking - Why Vegan is the New Black

    in Food

Can a diet free of meat, milk, eggs, butter and cheese actually taste good? Deborrah Cooper, author of the new cookbook WHY VEGAN IS THE NEW BLACK: MORE THAN 100 DELICIOUS MEAT AND DAIRY FREE MEAL IDEAS YOUR WHOLE FAMILY WILL LOVE says the answer is "absolutely!"

Her goal for this book was to help change the perception that healthy foods look weird and taste bad. The typical American diet is full of greasy high sodium fast food that really packs on the pounds and sets us up for serious health problems. Reducing the quantity of animal protein and upping the plants we eat has been proven to reverse heart disease, normalize blood sugar and lipids, and lower both weight and blood pressure in just a couple of weeks.

Statistics support these concerns, especially in the black community. According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), 78.6 million Americans are obese, which directly impacts the health and longevity of nearly one-third of the U.S. population. Obesity-related conditions include heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes and certain types of cancer. High blood pressure and arteriosclerosis impact the sexual health of Americans as well, reflected in erectile dysfunction in men, and reduced desire and blood flow to the vaginal area in women.

These are largely preventable afflictions, directly related to what we put in our mouths. Reality is, what we're putting on our plates is killing us. Find out more about how you can begin changing your diet for the better in this broadcast.

MIRACLE MANIFESTING MONDAYS - Vegan Author Victoria Moran - Good Karma Food Path

    in Spirituality

We have been running a bunch of vegan shows, both because I have a new book coming out, VIM VIGOR VITALITY VEGAN! and because being vegan and vegetarian fully or partially benefits health and wellness for people and planet.  Today MMM presents Victoria Moran, noted vegan authority and author.

A good part of planetary devastation and Earth changes are actually fueled by eating meat and using non 100 percent post-consumer recycled paper for everything.  The amount of land, water and food required to raise cows, whether for meat or dairy, is overwhelming, causes methane, and is counter productive to a healthy planet.

Tonight we welcome Victoria Moran, Victoria (www.mainstreetvegan.net) is a vegan of three decades and an obesity survivor. Listed by VegNews magazine among the Top 10 Living Vegetarian author, Victoria has written twelve books, including Main Street Vegan, Creating a Charmed Life, and new this month, The Good Karma Diet. Her fans range from Michael Moore to Ellen Degeneres, and she was featured twice on Oprah. Moran hosts of the weekly Main Street Vegan podcast; directs Main Street Vegan Academy, an in-person program in NYC to train vegan lifestyle coaches.

Get ready to learn much, open your consciousness, change your life for the better, and have a super great time!

  • MIRACLE MANIFESTING MONDAYS - Victoria Moran, Vegan Expert/Good Karma Food Path

    in Spirituality

MMM has been doing a series of wellness and vegan shows because this way of eating, whether exclusively or partially, heals both people and planet.  We actually slow global warming, as we do when we use 100 percent post-consumer paper for our needs rather than chopping down forests, including "sustainably produced paper."

We are honored to have with us this Monday Victoria Moran, a noted vegan author, practitioner, and teacher.  Victoria (www.mainstreetvegan.net) is a vegan of three decades and an obesity survivor.

        Call in.  Ask questions.

Yes, we begin with our Breathing Attunement, Affirmation/Intention/Prayer, and end, as always, with a Closing Blessings.

My book, VIM VIGOR VITALITY VEGAN, can be pre-ordered.  We will be ready with the PDF after Mercury goes Direct in June.
