Hip-Hop has not only grown but has expanded and created insane amounts of opportunities for the music industry. It was said to be a phase that wouldn't last but a few years but has since changed the game tremendously. It's hard to deny its role in Urban Fiction with so many stories using the same glamorous approach. However, how much of an influence has it played in the genre is the question. Come along as your favorite Urban Fiction Hosts K.C Baylor and Co-Host Santiago goes indepth about tonight's topic

Yara Kaleemah was born in Newark, NJ in the early 90's. As a child she would spend hours writing stories. When her friends were outside, playing, she was in the house writing. Being that she was an only child she had a lot of time on her hands. Naturally, when people asked what she wanted to be when she grew up she would say "an author."
In 2013, Yara published her first novella, Too Much to Chew. It was the greatest accomplishment. Soon after came three more outstanding urban fiction novels. Then, she started S.W.A.G Productions. Wanting to establish something creative, the acronym stands for Strong Women Achieving Greatness. SWAG Productions is a platform for self-published authors. The company offers services such as editing, proofreading, and typing.
Now, Yara is working hard at school and becoming a bestselling author. She is excited to embark on this new journey with SWAG Productions and fE Mag. Even though sometimes it is difficult to juggle motherhood, being a wife, a student, an author, and a publisher, she manages. With hard work and dedication she will achieve all of her goals.
There is a unique experience for each and every author out there. There are different struggles, different success, and different appreciation associated with each person. Join me as I discuss being a woman in Urban Literature with some of the best: Allison Essence M Edwards, Jacqueline McDuffie, Mimi Renee The Writer Chick, Tanisha Pettiford, and Tamika Newhouse.
Crystal Alexis was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois, where she attended Richards Career Academy. While in school, she aspired to become an accountant, however she earned a degree in Automotive Technology and several certificates in Pharmacy Technology and Bill Collecting. Crystal spent a few years as manager of Jeffy Lube.
After years of reading and running a book club, she grew a passion for writing. In 2013 she signed to Creative Flow Publications, where she published Social Deception 1 & 2. More recently, Crystal has become a member of K Ellis Publications and part owner on SWAG Presents with Yara Kaleemah. She also co-hosts Gossip Village Radio and took part in developing “Please Don’t Kill Me: An Anthology against Domestic Violence.” Though Crystal’s greatest joy comes from being an outstanding mother to her two children, Tres’ore and Jalil, and being a caregiver to her mother, she would say that writing has changed her life.
Most 25 year old singer/song writers would be putting in All they have for their final push for a major label deal. After all, they usually snatch the singer when they’re younger. Not this one. Elizabeth Langham is doing the music to simply Create, Inspire and bring Positive vibes into people’s ears.
‘Too many people get caught up in the money making aspect of the industry and completely disregard why they even started to do music in the first place. Money is appealing, but I’d rather perform for free and inspire someone than to get caught up in the Diva role.’ –Elizabeth Langham
