• The Upper Room Experience with Chief Apostle Shayla

    in Lifestyle

To the Remnant of the MOST HIGH GOD,

Question:  Do you know what time it is?

Answer:  It's time for COMPLETE RESTORATION!!!

The Word of the Lord clearly tells us that in all our getting, we need to get understanding (Proverbs 4:7b).  We must understand that in order to receive COMPLETE RESTORATION in EVERY area of life, there is a PROCESS* that must take place.

*Process - a series of actions that produce something or that lead to a particular result

COME eat together, pray together, and wait together in FULL oneness, unity, and agreement with us every Monday in the Upper Room Experience with Chief Apostle Shayla.

Jehovah (the God who reveals) shall be releasing from His Holy Habitation #1. Kingdom wisdom, knowledge, and understanding regarding the PROCESS to COMPLETE RESTORATION, and #2. the EMPOWERMENT for the PROCESS.

John Carver Show - Which Fork?

    in Self Help

Many of you know I Pastor Faith Outreach Chapel in Baltimore MD.  I've been pastoring there (as well as doing many other things) since 1994.  On Sunday November 2, 2014 I shares a sermon called "Which Fork?"

“Alice came to a fork in the road. 'Which road do I take?' she asked.

'Where do you want to go?' responded the Cheshire Cat.

    'I don't know,' Alice answered.

'Then,' said the Cat, 'it doesn't matter.”  ? Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

I share a story about Jerry show who was shot in a robbery.

Every human being has to make choices….to choose a path.

I will tell you a story of Monty Roberts and much more...

At the very end I share a story...you might want to get the Kleenex.

Another Fork in the Road: Christian Jungersen, author of “You Disappear"

    in Education

Christian Jungersen, author of "You Disappear" does not have a brain injury. He is not a caregiver for a person with brain injury, yet he was able to create a plausible world of a family who is enveloped in the world of brain injury. Jungersen takes his readers on the twisted journey of Frederick, a headmaster at a prestigious school; Mia, his wife and a reputable schoolteacher; and their teenage son, Niklas as they are caught in the the web of brain injury.

Every TBI survivor and caregiver has encountered a fork in the road that has diverted his or her life-plan. A car accident, a fall from the roof, doing one more chin-up, or a door literally slamming one in the face are just some causes of traumatic brain injury. College plans, walking down the aisle in the perfect dress, or the coveted job quickly slip from reality as dreams turn to struggle. These unexpected life-happenings that divert one from his or her chosen path in life can be devastating. But as Yogi Berra once said, "If you come to a fork in the road, take it." Life is all about choices!

BT and CK talk breeder loans and other things

    in Pets

Most listeners to our show know that reptile breeder loans can be a dicey topic of discussion depending on whom you ask. My belief is that breeder loans between friends and associates can be mutually beneficial, but require a high tolerance for risk on the part of both parties involved. Clearly, sending a valuable animal across the country in the hopes that a lot of variables will go just right and produce a favorable outcome for both parties is not for the risk averse, or those with a weak constitution! One has to be able to eat some unfortunate news occasionally, and one needs to trust one's counterpart 100%.

As it turns out, BT and CK are going to participate in exactly such an endeavor this upcoming season, and, they are going to document the progress right here on the show for our listeners. Good times on the way? Or a recipe for disaster? Time will tell! Tune in and find out how the two-letter-fellas end up when the summer 15 babies finally pip their eggs. First installment begins with this show. Wish us luck!

WebbWeaver Books Proudly Presents: Author Nick Hunt

    in Books

Walking the Woods and the Water: In Patrick Leigh Fermor's footsteps from the Hook of Holland to the Golden Horn:

In 1933, the eighteen-year-old Patrick Leigh Fermor set out in a pair of hobnailed boots to chance and charm his way across Europe, "like a tramp, a pilgrim, or a wandering scholar." The books he later wrote about this walk, A Time of Gifts, Between the Woods and the Water, and the posthumous The Broken Road are a half-remembered, half-reimagined journey through cultures now extinct, landscapes irrevocably altered by the traumas of the twentieth century.

Aged eighteen, Nick Hunt read A Time of Gifts and dreamed of following in Fermor's footsteps. In 2011 he began his own "great trudge"—on foot all the way to Istanbul. He walked across eight countries, following two major rivers and crossing three mountain ranges. With only Fermor's books to guide him, he trekked some 2,500 miles through Holland, Germany, Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Turkey.

His aim? To have an old-fashioned adventure. To slow down and linger in a world where we pass by so much, so fast. To discover for himself what remained of hospitality, kindness to strangers, freedom, wildness, adventure, the mysterious, the unknown, the deeper currents of myth and story that still flow beneath Europe's surface.

    Ways To Awakening Your Genius

    in Motivation

Did you ever daydream? I guess I should explain “daydreaming” to some of you if you have never heard the term. "Daydreaming" is like pretending, not in action but through thinking. It is thinking of something desired and making it as real as possible, feeling joy and a sense of accomplishment. Long before electronic gadgetry and “virtual” imaging games, the brain created virtual tours for imaginative individuals: children could fly and become fast running horses.

There is research evidence that imaginative people are more intelligent than those who are not. I recently read a story where Albert Einstein was asked “how can I become as smart as you?” and his answer was “read fairy tales”.  When asked “how can I become smarter than you; he answered “read more fairy tales”. Well the inquirer was frustrated by such answers and thought disparaging thoughts. But I understand!

Fairy tales invite the reader to enter a make-believe world and entertain unusual thoughts. Such thinking stimulates different parts of the brain than routine activities. When the brain is stimulated, like a body-builder “working” his muscles, so does fantasy exercise the brain to expande it.To develop genius, the brain must be exercised.

There are a number of companies that are cashing in on this concept and selling subscriptions to “thinking” activities. It is good to know that everyone can improve his/her brain by setting aside time to daydream and ponders abstract concepts. It is important to engage children in “What if” games to get them thinking about less concrete things. Childhood should have wonderment and make-believe and their brains should be stimulated to grow. Imagination is the incubator for genius.

The Porch - Hanukkah's Light and Shadows

    in Religion

Tonight we look at the Light and shadows of Hanukkah.  We can we as Believers in Yeshua/Jesus learn from the Festival of Lights.

Getting back to basics by examining the Word of God and, especially, the Book of Acts Church, The Porch Online Bible Study is taking a deeper look into how the early church served the Lord.

Our desire is to find and restore the priesthood of the Believer and the world shaking influence the Early Church had. By delving deeper into scripture we will find the Church the Lord intended and not the one man created.

The Church Age is not over and therefore what took place in the Upper Room is as much for now as it was on the Day of Pentecost. If you know that there is more to your spiritual walk with Yeshua/Jesus and you want more then you are welcome to join us on this journey as we get back to basics!

The Porch is an outreach of Solomon's Porch Inc. http://www.onsolomonsporch.org.  If you have any questions please visit the site and use the comment button.
