Scripture Text: Acts 16: 14-40
Key Verse : Acts 16: 22--25
And the multitude rose up together against them: and the magistrates rent off their clothes, and commanded to beat them.
And when they had laid many stripe upon them, they cast them into prison, charging the jailer to keep them safely:
Who, having received such a charge, thrust them into the inner prison, and made their feet fast in the stock.
And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.

Urban author, Dion Cheese, an African-American writer, penned Who Am I; The Chronicles of Cain; Explain It To Her Momma; and Caught Slipping.
Formally a hip-hop recording artist, father, convict, and drug dealer, Dion was born in northern New Jersey, the 7th of 8 siblings. Raised in the inner city section of Plainfield New Jersey, his life was anything but a Norman Rockwell portrait; life was hard, cold and at times cruel. Crime and drug-ridden, Dion avoided the lures of selling drugs and/or using them, coming from a family where everyone had succumb to one or the other. He somehow managed to have the force of will and vision to step outside his world, becoming the first in his family history to go to college to pursue a degree in Chemical Engineering.
In his late teens, however, he felt the pull of the large wake his older brother was creating in hip hop music. Robert, A/K/A Dee Jay Cheese, better known as DJ King Kut, by his late teens was already a multi-award winning DJ World Champion, and later an inductee to the DMC Hall of Fame.
Dion had always been inspired to write, and recorded his first song, “Phenomenal”, through CSI Entertainment in the mid-1980s as a tribute to the older brother’s talents. Two years later he formed Third Street productions and recorded the singles Third Street, Come On Everybody, Kick The Habit, and Leading The pack — released on Big City Records. He performed live at countless festivals, ands did shows at The Strand Theater in Plainfield New Jersey [headlined by E.M.P.D], and Newark Symphony Hall [headlined by BDP, D-Nice and Poor Righteous Teachers].
Along with his manager, Bruce T. Dugan, he founded Big City Records and, with the initial release of Third Street, the company established distribution through Schwartz Brothers, one of the largest independent national distributors at that time.

Here is a little about Glenn: Glenn began a research career in the pharmaceutical industry which culminated in an eighteen-year position as the Chairman and CEO of a biotechnology company in Massachusetts. Glenn began writing screenplays over twenty years ago and his interest in movies prompted him to attend the graduate program in film production at Boston University. He is currently the chairman of a media company, Lascaux Media, which has produced three independent feature-length films. In 2006 Glenn turned his hand to novel-writing. His debut novel, THE LIBRARY OF THE DEAD, the first in a trilogy, became an international bestseller and was translated into thirty languages. All of his seven published books have become top-ten international best-sellers. Glenn currently lives in New Hampshire. To learn more, visit the website at http://www.glenncooperbooks.com/.

Miami Herald book and movie reviewer Connie Ogle chats with Authors on the Air host Pam Stack LIVE on Wednesday evening. We will discuss her favorite books and movies and perhaps throw in a little college football (Connie is quite the sport fan, too). I'd also like to hear her thoughts on traditional publishing versus independent publishing, now that it has passed it's infancy. Connie is a well-known face at book signings and literary events in South Florida. She's a dog-lover, University of Florida fan-atic, movie freak and generally a pretty funny and interesting lady. Please join me on Wednesday at 8pm ET when we chat LIVE. Call to comment, ask a question or talk sports. 347-633-9609.

Authors on the Air host Pam Stack welcomes the magnificent Stephanie Bond. Stephanie Bond was several years into a corporate computer programming career when an instructor in her night school MBA program remarked that she had a flair for writing and encouraged her to submit one of her projects to academic journals. "But," Stephanie says, "all I could think was 'I wonder if I could write a romance novel?'" Bond grew up on a farm in eastern Kentucky where the entertainment choices were few. Luckily, she had a beloved aunt who shared her passion for reading. "When she visited once a year, she brought boxes and boxes of gothic novels by Victoria Holt and Phyllis Whitney and lush historical romances--I was in heaven! So suddenly thinking about writing in the genre of the books I loved was very exciting." After writing every spare moment for two years, Stephanie sold her first romantic comedy manuscript, IRRESISTIBLE? to Harlequin books. Two years later, she walked away from her corporate career to write commercial fiction full time. To date, she's published over 60 romance and mystery projects with Random House, St. Martin's Press, HarperCollins, and Mira Books, and is most well-known for her BODY MOVERS humorous mystery series. She is a featured author in Kindle Worlds. http://amzn.to/182Otsn.
