    Operation Self-Defense with~ Deva Hoffman

    in Women

Self-defense can be a crucial part of strategies to prevent rape. Yet most self-defense courses taught on college campuses don't prepare students for the violence they are most likely to face -- sexual assaults perpetrated by people they know. Please tune in and support our guest, Deva Hoffman. Ms. Hoffman has more than 15 years of self-defense training, Deva Hoffman has a passion for helping women learn how to defend themselves. Deva learned firsthand the importance of self-defense after almost becoming the victim of a random violent crime in 1988 when a man attempted to pull her into his car in a grocery store parking lot. Since then, Deva has been on a mission to help women avoid becoming victims of crime and abuse.

National Statistics about Sexual Assault provided by the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center

"Outsourcing America’s Defense Industry" on Tim Danahey Show

    in Politics

Defense spending as a percentage of GDP is shrinking and American defense contractors are outsourcing their systems, research, and development. Even worse, the major defense contractors are cutting way back on capital investment and research. Criticize the defense as much as you want but their research has brought us things like the internet and GPS. Instead of investing in research, defense contractors are using their cash for dividends and stock buybacks. In 2014, they gave 102% of their record profits to increase returns to stockholders,. The military wants to “Buy American” but it’s getting harder. Globalists say the military’s thinking is old-fashioned and the military needs to embrace international sources for defense systems and research – including China. You’ll want to listen to manufacturing and technology expert, Richard McCormack present what many perceive as a growing danger to national security. Have the capitalists “sold the rope to our enemies with which they will hang us?”  We also cover other subjects during the hour including low wages, and Amazon. You’ll also be proud of a letter that three former SEC commissioners sent to the current Chairperson of the Security and Exchange Commission: the former commissioners says it’s time to force corporations to disclose campaign contributions. The Tim Danahey Show discusses economics, government, social issues, history, and non-fiction books in a magazine format featuring in-depth conversations with guests. Politics and inflammatory conversations are discouraged as they are divisive and counter-productive. Instead, the show seeks under-reported topics and delves into facts, different perspectives, and ramifications of each perspective. The show does not espouse a political agenda. Danahey’s strength is to take complex subjects, talk with experts and make them comprehensible and entertaining for average listeners.

Self-Defense, No Nonsense - Marc MacYoung Gets Real

    in Self Help

Why should you care about Marc MacYoung?

He grew up in LA among (and has spend 40+ years dealing with) people who don't hesitate to use violence to get what they want, on a whim.

He has studied multiple styles of martial arts singe age 10, and has broken down and reworked the most street-effective elements into a system he and his equally-badass wife Dianna ("There's a reason the toilet seat is put down in our house," Marc says) teach, called Dango Jiro ("Mulligan Stew").

He was first shot at when he was 15, and since survived more than one attempt on his life - including professional contracts - some work-related, some personal.

He's worked as the director of a correctional institute, a bodyguard, a bouncer, and worked security at multiple-day events with tens of thousands of people in attendance.

He is considered a leading expert on surviving high-risk situations, and has written multiple books on the subject, used by academies, schools, police departments, and military academies world-wide.

As an authority on how violence happens, he is often called upon as a professional, expert witness in both criminal and civil cases.

So... we're not 100% sure we want him to have our home address.

But we ARE 500% certain we'll have a great chat with the guy, and it seems likely we can get a few good, bloody stories out of him - we get the feeling he's at least as funny as he is knowledgable and skilled.

Whether you're Joe Average or Black Belt Jones, join us for more than you ever wanted to know about the harsh realities of street violence with Marc "Animal" MacYoung!
