Once largely limited to poor women and minorities, single motherhood is now becoming the new “norm”.
This prevalence is due in part to the growing trend of children born outside marriage — a societal trend that was virtually unheard of decades ago.
About 4 out 10 children were born to unwed mothers. Nearly two-thirds are born to mothers under the age of 30.
Of all single-parent families in the U.S., single mothers make up the majority.
Working single mothers are disproportionately likely to be poor, and their ranks are growing, according to a new report from the Working Poor Families Project.
While families headed by a working mom make up less than a quarter of all working families, they make up nearly 40 percent of all low-income ones. And their numbers are on the rise: the share of working families headed by a woman that are low income increased from 54 percent in 2007 to 58 percent in 2012. The share is even higher among African Americans, as 65 percent are low income. This is a crisis who is to blame? SINGLE MOMS. join us today open forum Brian The Hammer Jackson Show.
A number of unmarried black women has substantially grown, the actual birthrate (measured by births per 1000) for black women is at the lowest point that it’s ever been. There are so many single Black Women, yet society makes us feel like we are bitter or angry when we want to vent and get some things off of our chest. We are going to get some issues off of our chest to heal. It’s easy for the man to run away yet is it just as easy for the women to run away from her responsibilities? What about the guy that keeps poppin out babies from multiple women? We can’t be angry about that? Tune in to find out

LOTL THE COMFORT ZONE Welcomes Adina Howard . Debuts“Bad 4 Me”
Personal Message from Adina : It’s been a minute since I’ve given my fans the type of music that is indicative of the sound and space that I’m in artistically. To this point historically I’ve been know by my classic hits like “Freak Like Me”, “T-Shirt & My Panties”, and “Nasty Grind” and I love that my fans love these hits. However it’s now time to create new music while giving my fans elements of the “old” Adina sound that they’ve come to love. With that being said I want to bring the industry my new sound, a more mature sound that I know the fans will appreciate.
“Bad 4 Me” is my new single that I am really excited about, why? Because this sound is refreshing and is truly good music. I’m stepping out on faith, grabbing the bull by its horns and taking my destiny in my own hands

Lyn Delmastro knows that life partnership can be such an amazing and powerful thing. But sometimes it isn’t so easy to find our partner… or once we do, things don’t always go smoothly in our relationship… That’s where Lyn comes in!
If you are tired of feeling like you are in dating despair OR you are tired of continually being frustrated with your spouse or partner… Lyn can help.
What qualifies Lyn to help?
Good question! Lyn knows from her own personal dating experience how difficult it felt to find the right guy for her. After going on countless bad or just plain unsuccessful first dates and being single for 9 years, Lyn started working with the power of energy medicine and BodyTalk to release old blocks and wounds and to open herself up to being aligned with the love her heart was seeking. The deep healing work over the course of a number of months prepared Lyn to meet the love of her life, the man she is marrying this year.
Being in a relationship can bring challenges. Sharing space and living together brings up stress, frustrations and challenges, shifting from a single life to being in a committed partnership brings up our “stuff” and it doesn’t always feel easy.
However, with consistent support to release old patterns and “yuck” and to stay aligned with the connection of your heart, it is possible to experience a beautiful unfolding of love and connection in a way that can sometimes blow your mind.
