Seduced: The Grooming of America's Teenagers
Author Opal Singleton talks about teens being "sextorted" along with the many other ways teens can fall victim to human trafficking and it is the fastest growing crime in the U.S. Opal has recognized a disturbing trend. Each encounter with a stranger, every illicit photo represents an opportunity for exploitation. With advancing technology violence and sex can be portrayed in ways that parallel reality. The result is a generation of "Desensitized Teenagers". ... Parents give kids devices that open the door to over a million predators that can influence a child's thinking on morality, spirituality and sexuality while they are competing for approval in a fantasy world. Apps, social media and online gaming allow access, grooming, recruitment and exploitation of our young people by total strangers. This book is not just an internet safety program. It is a parent and grandparent empowerment tool.
in The Bible
There's one thing for sure. We all face dark and difficult times in lifes journey. You may find yourself in a difficult and hard situation as you read this. But if you do, there is good news. You can actually have a peace of mind and gain spiritual and emotional strength while you are waiting for your breakthrough. You don't have to be depressed and have a doom and gloom attitude. Yes, it's hard. Even when we know God is good, it can be stressful on us while we are waiting for Him to deliver us from a bad situation. But don't second guess God. Don't give up on God. He is faithful. He will get you through no matter what you face. The issue is HOW we wait for God to change something. There is a time period between what we are waiting for and God answering our prayer. So what do we do while we are waiting? The radio show today will talk about what we should do, while waiting on God.We can have peace and joy, even in our hard times, if we wait the "right" way.
Why be thankful? Attitude. That's right. Being thankful prepares the mind to remain in a positive state. One can face challenges and still be encouraged by ones attitude regardless of an outcome. Is it possible to maintain a thankful attitude when facing the troubles of a car accident? Yes you can!
Join me, ESTRA for a talk about being thankful when it seems impossible.
