Let's empower ourselves now!!
NYPD Police officers Rafeal Ramos and Wenjian Liu were both shot in the head and killed Saturday by a man seeking revenge in the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Garner.
The shooter, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, started the morning off by shooting his ex-girlfriend in the stomach. Following the initial shooting, he traveled to New York City. During his quick trip, he boasted of his plans to kill cops in the name of Eric Garner and Mike Brown via Instagram.
These heinous acts of violence is pure evil. It follows numerous protests in NYC, Ferguson and other cities across the country in the wake of the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases.
Last week in NYC, protesters chanted, "What do we want? Dead cops. When do we want it? Now," as they marched. It seems their threatening language has become reality.
Our president, the attorney general, Al Sharpton and the likes have all made statements that are only designed to fuel the flames of racial tension in our country.
If we don't put an end to the racial divide in our nation, we will see more police brutality and the ushering in of a new type of police state like we've never seen before. The strategy of divide and conquer will be successful in one of its most primitive forms.
It's time for all Americans to come together and stand up for what is right and what is wrong, regardless of race.
Year after year over 500 innocent lives are taken by armed police officers who are abusing and misusing their authority. Why haven't our Federal Supreme Justice of Peace courts and U.S.A. government stepped up to stop and harshly punish these police officers who are using their positions, badges and authority to KILL so many innocent people? The U.S.A government doesn't seem to have any problems sending our U.S. military to other countries to help them fight against the malicious killings by the authorities and terriorists in their countries, so why won't they do it here on U.S.A soil even if it is "Americans" in authorative positions doing the senseless killings? This has got to stop. We want to put Dillon Taylor in the spotlight along with Michael Brown because they were both young unarmed males who were brutally killed without just cause by certain Ferguson Police Officers. Join us at 6:30pm EST as we discuss this matter. Thank you. Feel free to join us on Facebook @ZHEMAGAZINEPAGE & on Twitter | Instagram @zhemagazine
While much of the world last week was focusing on events in Ferguson, Mo., or on the case of a 12-year-old who displayed a realistic toy gun and was shot to death by a police officer in Cleveland, a different kind of confrontation involving police and race began playing out in federal court.
Nine Cleveland police officers -- eight whites and one Latino -- are suing the city, alleging racial discrimination. They say they were disciplined more harshly than black officers were in cases involving officer shootings.
Though dollar figures are not mentioned, the nine are seeking damages for lost pay, overtime and other benefits in the wake of a Nov. 29, 2012, high-speed car chase during which 13 officers fired 137 rounds at two unarmed black civilians in a school parking lot.
Timothy Russell and Malissa Williams, each shot more than 20 times, were killed. The city has settled a suit by the families, who will receive $3 million.
The federal lawsuit by police in some ways is the flip side of the ongoing debate involving police actions, whose mood President Obama on Monday described as “a simmering distrust that exists between too many police departments and too many communities of color.”

Some jobs are naturally stressful, particularly those that put ones life at risk. How does one come home after a long day of arresting people, pointing guns at people and even shooting people, and be pleasant to ones spouse and children? Domestic violence is often the secret shame children carry when they live in a home with parents who fight each other, and may even beat them as well. How can we help those who vent their pent up frustration and anger at loved ones? Is it possible to retrain people in police and security work to behave with courtesy, even toward suspected criminals? How would that affect police/citizen relationships?
