Survivors World - Mental Health and Trauma

    in Self Help

'Survivors World' a show where we encourage your true voice!! Men, women, teens & adults; we know your path and the lifelong battle for that sense of peace. We host this show for those who've been wounded by the affects of cruelty from those acts most commonly overlooked by those around us. Our supporters and those who are there to provide services in education, prevention, healing & recovery for victims, survivors, families & communities are all growing in momentum as we work to change the outcome for our children's wellbeing today. You can share with your identity protected; you are finally SAFE and we need your input!! YOUR VOICE MATTERS!!

We carry ourselves through the years of burying our trauma for fear of what others will think. We ignore the emotional wounding and never accept the pain of our own trauma. There are years of dysfunction and we question our behaviors & addictions used to help us cover up the madness of life within ourselves. In covering up the pain, anger, fear, and grief of all we've lost in our sense of that once innocent spirit we are left with a vast degree of emotional difficulties. There is always a question which is never truly answered, ARE WE EVER REALLY SAFE? All of these emotions are in the DSM-5 of our Mental Health, but I want to share what is is like for each of us independently. Doesn't trauma affect us all differently? Do we not all have different levels of tolerance?

Join with Trish as she gets back on the air this evening to host our 'Survivors World' broadcast. Please give a call in live at 347-215-7754 or connect with our amazing Butterfly Helpers in the chatroom.

This is a community outreach broadcast production from Butterfly Dreams Abuse Recovery. We are in no way a representation of any form of professional legal or theraputic advice.

Survivors World - Understanding YOUR Trauma

    in Self Help

Let's get acquainted with YOUR trauma and understand how certain specific wounds impact your internal functions This is a continuation of Monday evening's chat about the use of Psychotropic Medications; along with our special guest co-host  Ms. Lynn C. Tolson as our guest co-host. Lynn is an Author/Advocate/Survivor & Creator of 'Telling Everyone About Rape & Suicide'; also her own memoir 'Beyond the Tears - A true survivor's story'.

The emotional wounding we struggle with throughout life can often lead to required medications, but what are these meds and how do they ease the struggles of daily life? Does enduring such things as vicious childhood violence or sexual attacks year after year (with no way to reject or protect yourself from the monster who sleeps and lives within the very same walls); does this make the impact of trauma so severe that we must walk through our lives zoned out on medications?

Can we help ourselves heal and release ourselves from the medications by UNDERSTANDING OUR TRAUMA WOUNDS?

In our 'normal' growth development there are challenges which may require us to bury these emotional wounds. However, most often when we get to be about 30 things can really start imploding. You find yourself trying to figure out 'WHAT'S WRONG WITH YOU; why does life always feel like a rollercoaster ride? IT IS THE TRAUMA, is the wicked witch of your inner wounding trying to tell you something's wrong, but it seems all society and the medical profession want to do is silence you with meds, rather than face the darkness of your silent hell?

Call in or join the chatroom as we look at some of these specific trauma wounds and how they impact our life.
