This week on Metalsmith Benchtalk Jay Whaley will interview Toby Pomeroy, an ethical metalsmith and jewelr who has traveled the world in search of fair mined gold. We'll ask him about his journey, about gold mining pracitces and how we can do our part to support ethical metalsmithing.
Growing up in India, Toby discovered his commitment to life in balance. Today TOBY POMEROY™ is a world leader in environmentally sustainable and socially responsible jewelry. Today, TOBY POMEROY studio is a handful of young artists who, fascinated with texture and form, live to work with their hands. Their commitment to live, learn and create in harmony has the artisans forging reclaimed and source-certified, Fairmined TRUE GOLD™ metals into graceful forms inspired by the simplicity of nature. While technologies have come and gone in the over thirty years that Toby Pomeroy has designed jewelry, his studio continues to pursue the purity of the ancient craft. E-cigarettes are becoming very popular these days. Tens of thousands of people have said that "vaping" (the use of e-cigarettes) has saved their lives, by replacing cigarette smoking. But, the critics say e-cigarettes are no safer than regular tobacco cigarettes, and may even be more harmful. Now, the federal government is looking into the possibility for not only regulating, but taxing the industry.
Join host, Bobby Keith, along with WTP President, Toby Marie Walker, as we take a look at the great e-cigarette debate. Our guest tonight will be Bobby's daughter, Christi Nation. Christ, and her husband Josh, have been "smoke free" for 5 months now, thanks to e-cigarettes. Christi also has her own YouTube channel, where she rates "vape products and juices".
If you have questions or comments, you can let your voice be heard by logging into our live chat room, or by calling (646) 200-0248.

America's border states are facing a humanitarian and national security crisis from Texas to California. As thousands of unaccompanied minors and adults are entering the country illegally, border states, especially Texas, are having their resources stretched thin while the federal government does next to nothing to stem the tide. While border states are being overwhelmed, the federal government is shipping the UAC and illegal entrants throughout the country.
Dr. Dave McIntyre of "Thinking Enemy" and National Security expert, recently posted "Ten Facts About the Border Crisis", he will be our first guest 7:00 PM,
In Murrieta, CA one mayor is fighting back! Mayor Pro-Tem Harry Ramos, has been speaking out and trying to spread the word that his town has had enough. They have protested, and plan to continue to protest each time a new bus load shows up. The federal government now has sent riot police and federal agents in, not to protect the town, but to protect the illegals.
When we spoke with Mayor Ramos he explained that "Murrieta is an island of Texas in a sea of California!", that they are a small conservative town that is being inundated. Click here to learn more.
We will round out the show with Mr. Chuck Wilson, former CIA and Immigration SME, and Adryana Boyne of Voces Action, they will be discussing what can and should be done to stem the tide at the border.
We will have the live chat open for civil debate during the show.
