Steve and Alex are joined by Filmmaker Timo Rose is best-known for his Mutation trilogy, which involves a toxic chemical created by Nazis and rediscovered in modern times. The second and third chapters in this film trilogy were re-edited in 2006 into an FX-heavy "special edition" entitled Mutation: Annihilation.
A large majority of his earlier FX work was done by German director/effects technician and close friend Olaf Ittenbach, although Rose currently does most of his own under his "Rosecalypse SFX" banner.
Substantially younger than many of his contemporaries, Rose bases much of his filmmaking on the brutality of early Andreas Schnaas and Olaf Ittenbach features. In the decade since he began creating films, he has directed more features than any other filmmakers in the underground German horror scene.
Marx and Julie talk about what is happening in the world of film, TV, and web series. This time, GenreTainment chats with director Timo Vuorensola and producer Tero Kaukomaa of the Finnish-Australian-German independently produced & fan backed film Iron Sky. It's not everyday someone makes a scifi comedy about an invasion from Nazis on the moon. PLUS, we have on the show our featured guest music artist of the week: Kory from the Vancouver band Sorry Buttons.
The Iron Sky filmmakers talk about the huge, global success the film has had and their unique collaborative filmmaking approach involving fans both creatively and financially. We learn where this crazy funny idea came from and how, throughout years of fundraising and pre-production, it became a successful multi-national production.
Hosts (and filmmakers) Marx and Julie give you the latest news on movies, television, web series, and comic books.
Plus, interviews with writers, directors, producers, and actors in both independent creations and the not-so independent creations.

On Sunday, December 8, 7pm EST, 4pm PST, tune in for the final Third Eye broadcast of 2012, with a trio of power metal bands straight out of Europe!
First up, we speak to Markus Brinkmann of longtime genre standbys Mob Rules!
With an equal focus on melodic, radio friendly metal and the sort of politicosocial consciousness not seen in the scene since the heyday of thrash, Mob Rules delivers another slab of straightforward metal worthy of your attention on their new record Cannibal Nation!
Next, we have a fireside chat with Seeb Levermann of melodic metal maestros Orden Ogan!
Drawing equally from power and pagan metal, Orden Ogan meet the challenge of modern production with a sound equally reminiscent of acts like Manowar and Edenbridge, with wide open multi-voiced choruses and crisp post-millenial studio savvy on their latest and greatest, To The End!
Finally, we speak to the irrepressible Timo Schwammlein, "Managarm" from pagan/black/power metal warriors Varg!
With the courage to record almost exclusively in their native tongue, and tapping into the sound and imagery of black, pagan, and power metal alike, Varg mix the brutality, harsh vocals and stagenames of black metal with the bounce and melodic leanings of pagan and power metal to create a unique balance of power and pain (and even a dash of social relevance) with their American assault, Guten Tag!
Join us for our year end blowout, Sunday December 9!
Stay tuned for more great news from the worlds of music and film coming in 2013!
