"Let's Talk About Sex" Jory Fisher & Jennifer Miller

    in Relationships

Intimacy issues have become a multi-billion dollar business, but what most people don’t realize is that, a lot of the time, those issues are more mental and emotional than physical. If we are going to take a look at our struggles with connecting with someone intimately, then we must go back to where it all began, where we learned about intimacy in the first place. What all goes into our understanding of and experience with intimacy?

In this episode, Jory and Jennifer explore the roots of our sexuality, as well as our ability to connect. Intimacy isn’t just about sex, it is also about your mind, your heart, and your spirit. Learn to look deeper into your intimate life and how it was shaped by the family you grew up in and your early experiences with intimacy. We will share how you can take a look back to understand and then turn forward and move in a more healthy and God-honoring direction with your relationships.

Pastor, counselor, and author Jennifer Miller has dedicated herself to helping people strengthen their faith and their relationships. "The Church's S-word (Jory Fisher & Jennifer Miller)

    in Women

Yes, the Christian Church has an “s-word” all of its own and it is “submission.” Everyone has some sort of reaction when they encounter that word. It may be positive and it may be challenging, especially with the changing attitudes of our culture. A traditional approach to understanding how men and women relate isn’t always well-received, even within the Christian community. The concept of egalitarianism is actually on the rise within the Church. What does that all mean for both Christian men and women of today?

In this episode, Jory and Jennifer explore and discuss what Jesus said and demonstrated about the role of women in life and ministry during his time on Earth 2,000 years ago and how that translates to living in modern America. What does “submission,” as it is used in Scripture, really mean? How should it look today, for both men and women, in both the home and elsewhere? How can we reconcile tradition, Biblical directives, and our culture?

Pastor, counselor, and author Jennifer Miller has dedicated herself to helping people strengthen their faith and their relationships. John Carver Show - The Likeability Factor (Tim Sanders)

    in Self Help

Tim Sanders has been around for quite a few years.  The Likeability Factor defines “likeability” as “an ability to create positive attitudes in other people through the delivery of emotional and physical benefits.” Regardless of a person’s position or age, being likeable greatly increases his or her chances of having a happy, fulfilling life, both professionally and personally. Likeability is not just an accident of nature, however; it is a set of skills that can be learned, practiced, and perfected.

    Tim writes:

The choices other people make about you determine your health, wealth, and happiness. And decades of research prove that people choose who they like. They vote for them, buy from them, marry them, and spend precious time with them. The good news is that you can arm yourself for the contest and win life’s battles for preference. How? By raising your likeability factor.

The more you are liked, the happier your life will be. InThe Likeability Factor, business guru Tim Sanders shows how to build your likeability factor by teaching you how to enhance four critical elements of your personality:

Friendliness: your ability to communicate liking and openness to others

Relevance: your capacity to connect with others’ interests, wants, and needs

Empathy: your ability to recognize, acknowledge, and experience other people’s feelings

Realness: the integrity that stands behind your likeability and guarantees its authenticity

"How Your Gender Affects the Workplace" Jory Fisher & Jennifer Miller

    in Relationships

Men and women manage their stress very differently, especially in the transition between home and work. Men have the uncanny ability to compartmentalize whereas women tend to let everything affect everything else. In this episode, we explore the impact of gender differences on the workplace. What do these differences mean for how we perform at work and how work impacts our home life? Do we see this play a role in management styles?

It is also common knowledge that the wage disparity between men and women still exists. Jory and Jennifer discuss how gender differences may play a part in such an issue as this. Who is more confident with asking for promotions and raises? Which gender more accurately determines their value in a workplace? Consider what gender differences might mean for the roles in your life as you join us for this latest episode.

Pastor, counselor, and author Jennifer Miller has dedicated herself to helping people strengthen their faith and their relationships. She currently serves as Co-Executive Director for The Center for Living Well, a faith-based wellness center, and her book “No Longer Two” is now available on Amazon. "Why You're Losing Business..." (Jory Fisher & Julie Fleming)

    in Entrepreneur

Do you ever have the feeling that you’re working hard to build your client or customer list, but whatever you do seems to fall flat? In today’s episode, we’re sharing our observations about what you’re doing that causes you to lose business and what you can do instead. Lots of new entrepreneurs think that just putting a website out will be enough to get business (we both thought so too, for a short time) and flail around when that proves to be untrue. Maybe you’re imitating someone who’s been successful (which is often a recipe for feeling like an inauthentic failure), or maybe your fear of rejection or desire not to seem pushy is stopping you from getting into the conversations that will leave to business. We’ll explore those marketing obstacles, as well as others that we’ve experienced. And then we’ll share how to find your unique path into effective marketing, starting with identifying your marketing identity so that the real you will show and connect with those whom you’re meant to serve.

Julie A. Fleming, principal of Lex Innova Consulting, helps lawyers and other service professionals to create and implement innovative business development plans. She is the author of three books as well as numerous articles on topics such as business development, practice management, work/life balance, and leadership development.
