    in Politics

Tonight at 8pm ET on Ernest Radio Network, it's Political Gravity.
Your host Jane Hoffman goes back to one of our favorite subjects on Ernest Radio Network, that of monk & charity worker Thomas Merton.  He lived an extraordinary yet simplistic life, dedicating it to God's service.  Tonight, Jane focuses her attention on his time at the Abbey of Gethsemani, in Kentucky.  He arrived there in 1941, and stayed until his death in 1968.  You'll hear more on this amazing human being tonight.
All this plus NPR news, music, & much more.

Jamie Holka's website can be found here, at - http://jamieholka13.wordpress.com/ -

Jamie Holka is a solo finger-style guitarist from Niagara Falls NY.  His style incorporates many layers to assimilate bass, drums, chords and melody. Switching between a Gibson L-5 and a Maton Michael Fix model, he’s able to create quite a diverse sound.

Jamie studied at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts and continued the study of jazz guitar long after his Berklee days. However, jazz is only a foundation for his multi-layered arrangements.

Thomas Merton, Mother's Day, Confronting your sins

    in Politics

Thomas Merton said "One mortal sin is more powerful than an atom bomb."  What he meant is that each individual chooses sin like hate, greed, lust and it manifest itself - it is a driving force for war and other human conflict.  Jane will read excerpts tonight and Jon will respond.  Other current events. too.

The Thomas Loop Radio Show - Christopher Joel on AM-1440 WJJL 11/26/2014

    in Music

Christopher Joel will be "In" The Thomas Loop Radio Show on WJJL-1440AM Niagara Falls/Buffalo, NY - a podcast will soon follow the live broadcast at around 1pm on 11/26 - on http://www.blogtalkradio.com/thomaslooptm-

Here is Chris's bio from his home page at www.christopherjoel.net - I've been performing throughout Western New York for over 3-1/2 years with solo and various musical projects.  Aside from my solo acoustic shows, I currently perform with my acoustic duo 'THE CT SCAN' (Check out The CT Scan section here on my website) as well as playing drums in a new project called "007".

With my acoustic shows, I stay true to my motto "acoustic music...the way it's meant to be heard".  You won't hear any extra music or noises unless it's me making them.  In a recent video from one of my performances (in the multimedia section) you will hear someone say "Now that's a one man band".  You also won't see a laptop or a music stand in front of me looking down at them; I learn words and music.  As an entertainer, I always give 110% at every performance.  I thrive on audience participation/interaction and they are the reason I get to do what I love doing.

Come to a show and you'll see...seeing is believing...

As only a gifted author such as Thomas can, she takes the readers on this sometimes very perilous-but fascinating and entertaining-journey of adult film star Timothy J. Boham AKA Marcus Allen as his thirst and hunger for fame and adulation explodes into chaos, love, loss and murder! INTENDED FOR MATURE AUDIENCES-The Rise and Deadly Spiral of Adult Star Timothy J. Milling About With Thomas Jane

    in Entertainment

Thomas Jane brings in the new year with Vice, playing a futuristic cop investigating a resort run by Bruce Willis, where human-like androids (Ambyr Childers) programmed to fulfill a user's fantasy have gone off the grid. Jane tells host Robin Milling he is a Sci-Fi fan so the opportunity to tell the story which might be a cautionary tale of abusing technology in the present, intrigued him.

He admits he is not a fan of social media but got into the game with his own site, http://www.rawstudios.com/ where he can check in occassionally to a supportive forum of like-minded graphic novel enthusiasts. He jokes, 'Nobody has created a fake Thomas Jane account on my forum; at least not that I know of!'

Thomas' plans for 2015 are vast, with a second graphic novel in the works, and a western that he wrote which he hopes to direct. The working title is 'The Magnificent Death From A Shattered Hand.' On the small screen he's got The Expanse for SyFy and the History channel's Texas Rising, which features his daughter making her acting debut alongside her dad. He tells Robin he was amazed by her talent, 'She was kind of uncanny. She must've absorbed it through some mechanism that we're not aware of, yet. There's some kind of morphogenic field out there where you can absorb experience from your parents somehow!'
