    "CleftCast" -- Thinking Better Thoughts

    in Health

There is little doubt that the power of our thoughts does have an effect upon our lives. If thoughts of anger and resentment fill up our days, then it leads to discomfort emotionally. If thoughts of peace and love are more prevalent, then it can lead to serenity and sanity. Of course, when a parent is having to deal with multiple issues around their child's wellbeing, even the thought of thinking clearly and having better thoughts lingers in the background. Host Joe Rutland discusses how those of us in the cleft and craniofacial community can think better thoughts while taking time for some good self-care, too. Download "CleftCast" at iTunes, Blog Talk Radio and Stitcher Radio. Every minute counts ... and you are loved.

Thinking Aloud with Ayo in Conversation- Building wealth within the community

    in Lifestyle

One of things I want to do better this year is support "own" brands! No, not MY own, but those within the Nigerian and African community that are doing things well.
I've spoken to people who have sworn NEVER to do business with Nigerian/Africans ( they themselves are Naija/African peeps o!) while others swear that no matter what, they'd spend their hard earned £s/$s/¥ ONLY with Africans.
2 extremes I guess. But both have valid points.

    Is there any middle ground?
Are there pros and cons for both?
Should we be looking at the power of "the African" £/$/¥?
Should there be a responsibility to support "awa" own?

    Whats YOUR view?

Power of Optimistic Thinking: A Path to Happiness featuring Kokomon Clottey

    in Relationships

Optimistic thinking is an ancient wisdom.  When one exercises optimistic thinking it inspires a host of opportunities, such as peace, love and happiness. Research by Manju Puri and David Robinson at Duke University finds that optimistic people work harder, get paid more, get elected to office more often, and win at sports more regularly. They even live longer. The meaning of optimism according to the Webster’s New World: The tendency to take the most hopeful or cheerful of matters or to expect the best outcome; practice of looking on the bright side of things.  Albert Einstein said, “No problem can be solved from the same level of consciousness that created it.” We are responsible for our thoughts and our feelings", according to the wisdom of Attitudinal Healing. As such, the key to cultivating and maintaining happiness depends on us as the architects. When one holds an optimistic attitude, one can alter life’s experience from negative to positive.  Thank you for tuning in to Happiness Index on Blog Talk Radio to explore with us the Power of Optimistic Thinking: A Path to Happiness.
