Host Robin Masiewicz and regulars Jamie and Gloria discuss "The Fun Theory", the theory that the easiest way to change human behavior for the better, is by making it fun to do. This was based on an ad campaign from Volkswagen where they decided to put the theory to the test in three behavioral experiments, the video of which is now posted on YouTube.
The first experiment was to see if more people would take the stairs rather than the escalator if they made it fun to do. The idea was to turn the stairs into a giant piano keyboard, where each stair represented a note. The lower notes were at the bottom of the stairs, and the higher ones on top. People discovered that they could make sounds as they went up or down the stairs.
The result? 66% more people than normal took the stairs over the escalator. Fun can obviously change behavior for the better.
The second experment was to see if they could get more people to throw their rubbish in the bin by making it fun to do. They wired a trash can so that each time you put something in, you heard a sound like a cartoon bomb falling down the world's deepest bin, then a boom when it "hit" the bottom.
The result of this experiment was that they collected 158 pounds of trash (72kg) in the "fun" bin compared to just 68 pounds (31kg) of trash in another bin just a short distance away.
The videos of these experiments went viral, resulting in other people trying to make other common tasks fun. So what do you think? Does novelty and fun help us to do the right thing
In honesty we need to ask ourselves, how well do we know the difference between these two access points that we use in formulating information into knowledge?
How easy or difficult is it to acquire genuine gnosis or knowingness that is not corrupted by anything, thus, a trustworthy guidance of what we think we know as being what is factually algined with Principle knowing.
What shifts our experiences from a beginner's level of knowing into a masterful knowing that is beyond the lower mind's architecture?
Is theory a stepping stone or a blockage to our growth? What can we do to optimize our mind's functioning to serve our Awakening to Absolute TRUTH and not lose sight of how theory is a flux state that can mislead or guide appropriately?

I recently heard a good joke, allow me to share it with you. What do you call a person that doesn't take a civil service test but still works for the govenment? Answer; a Taxpayer.
So with that in mind, how do we approach the thousands of illegals streaming across the southern border, the millions of dollars handed out to people that have no business getting it. Where do we draw the line between those that produce and can enjoy the fruits of their labor and those that take more and more. Have we come close to the fault line defined by our abilities and our needs?
Join me today to discuss the pressing matters of American and International Policy, and how we can keep or beloved nation from becoming a failed experiment in Human Freedom.

Canadian rock outfit Theory of a Deadman are fresh from the July 29th release of their latest album, SaVages. Mike Raine had the chance to speak with frontman Tyler Connolly about the album, their progression over the years since releasing their self-titled debut in 2002, their success outside of Canada, and a lot more.
And in CM Academy, we speak with Aaron Bethune, the author of the new book Musicpreneur: The Creative Approach To Making Money In Music. We'll speak about the book and some of the ideas in it. An early review from our friend Eric Alper at eOne Music Canada reads: "It's tempting, when you go into the music business, to think that all you have to do is write a great song. That certainly helps. It's also a necessity to know all aspects of the industry, so you're able to tackle any challenge you face. This book might just be all you'll need to read."
Brennan Platt of BYU recently co-published an article titled, "Sticking With What (Barely) Worked: A Test of Outcome Bias." The interesting part is Dr. Brennan Platt is an economics professor at BYU. With all the recent movies around "Money Ball", game theory and scientific management of sport, Brennan will be joining Stephen to talk about his findings, the trends, the limitations, and ultimately, how do you use the study to create a better team.

Getting teenagers to exercise can be a daunting task. After all, with the computer and Internet, television, video games and other sedentary temptations, the idea of getting up and moving around can be less than appealing. However, it is important for teens to exercise. The American Heart Association identifies physical inactivity as risk factor for several health problems - www.teenhelp.com

children's nutrition. Also working to Improving the accessibility and affordability of healthy foods. Last but not least Physical activity -- increasing opportunities for kids to play and move.
Get your community government involved - Mayors and community leaders can promote physical fitness by working to increase safe routes for kids to walk and ride to school; by revitalizing parks, playgrounds, and community centers; and by providing fun and affordable sports and fitness programs.
Let’s Move! supports the Presidential Active Lifestyle Award (PALA+) challenge, which helps individuals commit to regular physical activity and healthy eating -- and rewards them for it.

Today we have a big topic, and our show title is Turning 18 What does it Mean? Marquel Green, the Co-Creator of A Theory of Parenting on Blogtalkradio.com has celebrated his 18th Birthday! He now has the "Adult" status. Turning 18 - What does it Mean? When your child turns 18, he will legally become an adult in the eyes of the law. This marks an important transition in your child's life and presents some parenting challenges that are different that when your child was growing up. Legal adulthood for your child does not mean that your job as a parent is over, but turning 18 does mark a new phase in your relationship with your child. Read more : http://www.ehow.com/info The fact that your child is now an adult in the eyes of the law does not mean that she no longer needs parental guidance. The late teen years are a time when teens must make decisions about who they want to be as adults.
Becoming an adult is a process that is taking longer and longer, and most parents find that they still play the role of parent well into their child's 20s. Continue to provide emotional support and guidance to your child for the next several years. Child psychologist Richard Weissbourd has argued that a strong and close relationship with a parent can help children navigate the transition into adulthood and full independence.
