We often see televangelists, pastors and preachers on TV putting on elaborate exhibitions in the name of God. How much of this is real theology and how much of it (if any) is just a show to serve the man behind the pulpit? Howard and David investigate this sensitive but important topic! Hey there Tea Sippers... we are continuing on our quest to dialogue with you and allowing you to be my Co-Host. On this installment of Don't Come out of a Bag, Wednesday, we will be focusing on these topics; however, whatever is on your mind, we will talk about it right here, right now, BUT if you come out of a bag be it Prada, Gucci, Louie, Samsonite, Coach, or other, I will come out of a Bigger Bag, you got me!
Here are some thoughts that are on my mind this week
How do you cope with feeling JEALOUSY? Do you acknowledge when you are?
Single and the person over 40, how do you cope with it and does it reflect on your mortality?
Church Theatrics, are we REALLY into the entertainment of all of this or is this the Word of "the Lord?"
Children killing parents....is this a New Trend or have we Failed and Spoiled our kids rotten?
These are the things that are on my mind, so make sure you have your crumpets together and be ready to take a sip of some tea from this Hot Pot.
My guest Dr. Nicole Kosanke is here to talk about the book - Beyond Addiction: How Science And Kindness Help People Change.
"Beyond Addiction eschews the theatrics of interventions and tough love to show family and friends (of those with substance abuse problems) how they can use kindness, positive reinforcement, and motivational and behavioral strategies to help their loved ones change. Drawing on forty collective years of research and decades of clinical experience, Beyond Addiction presents the best practical advice science has to offer."
Dr. Nicole Kosanke is director of family services at CMC where she specializes in working with family members of people abusing substances. In 2008 Dr. Kosanke was featured in an O, The Oprah Magazine article about her client's experience in treatment at CMC, which was later published in O's Big Book of Happiness: The Best of O.

Young and gifted. Energetic and enthusiastic. Inspiring and innovative. Focused and determined. Still, the descriptions could continue infinitely. How does one encapsulate the many great attributes of a person who can effectively and simultaneously stir every human emotion by presenting real life situations in which almost everyone can empathize? Simple: just call her Robin. Robin Byrd, that is.
At only 31 years old, Robin Byrd is quickly becoming a force to be reckoned with in the arena of theatrics. We announce the presentation of her first major play, “A Second Time Around,” a modern-day comparative to the Biblical story of Jonah. Robin’s life has been flanked with a child’s view of drug and alcohol use, sexual abuse, poverty and other dysfunctional family characteristics. Raped at the helpless age of five, Robin later recalls telling God, “I want my life to be different. I don’t want it to be like this.” And deep down inside she affirms, “I always knew I wanted to be better. “A Second Time Around” will go on tour this year.

Chap Oscar has a number of mementos of an illustrious past in the fast lanes of New York City as a limo driver to the stars.
He pulls a book off his bookshelf, one that Little Richard gave out at all his concerts. It’s testimony; and it has a signed picture of Little Richard inside.
Chap speaks reverently of Gladiator Ali. He says Ali’s genius and prowess extend outside the ring, calling him the “Knockout King of Branding and Promotion.”
And, irony of ironies, if there’s one arena that best illustrates the character of Chap Oscar, it’s big time prize fighting. And Chap has the proof to show it…
The legends of the enmity between Muhammad Ali and Joe Frazier goes far deeper and is far colder even than the exaggerated theatrics of media reporting make it out to be.
The photo you see of Joe Frazeir and Muhammad Ali TOGETHER, SMILING, and with understanding - taken on Chap’s own camera - is a monumental, unique moment in the relationship between the two men.
Look at those smiles! That’s the effect this man, Chap Oscar, has on others… There’s a reason why they call him “America’s Most-Loved Minister.”
Tune in as Chap Oscar shares a LOT of illustrious insights that you’ve never heard before.

The Crux was founded by Santa Rosa based songwriter and performer Josh Windmiller in early 2007. Their rowdy and danceable songs are theatrical in nature, often springing from interesting team-ups with other artists. Their most recent album, The Ratcatcher, consists of songs from a play that Windmiller co-wrote with North Bay theatre troupe The Imaginists. The music of The Crux has been called "Doc Watson by way of Joe Strummer" as well as "pirate cabaret."
This morning on "Pathways 2 Truth" Radio we will discuss the "Paradigms of Praise & Worship." So much of the Christian experience is misguided theatrics centered around "ego driven entertainment." The vast majority of Christians DO NOT READ the Bible on a consistent basis. Like sheep, they prefer to be fed by the Pastor. Like a traffic light, they wait for the signal to tell them when to "stop" and when to "go." Praise
