The issue of the Black father has been going on for generations and unfortunately in a negative way.
Whether we are talking about the absentee father, the deadbeat dad, the abusive father, the man that never really came around, the man that had all those kids, the man that wouldn't marry my mom, the man that we never met or the one that we can't seem to get it together with, the Black father is a polarizing figure. He commands a lot of attention for a man that so many people say hardly exists in our lives.
The issues with fathers is not exclusive to Black people. Other races and ethnic groups have had similar issues with fathers but their issues seem to have dealt more with abusive or neglectful fathers inside the home. Many Black people have the opposite experience.
This is not a general show concerning fathers though. This show will focus on personal issues that people have had in the Black family with their fathers.
What has been your experience concerning your dad? Was he there? Was he absent? Have you been mad at him most of your life or have you been looking for him most of your life?
Has someone else that is not been your biological dad been your dad all your life? How did that turn out?
Have you been taught to feel like a father is not as important in your life as a mother is?
What about people who have sons? Do we secretly fear that our sons won't be there for their children if they grew up without a dad? Do we try to prevent that from happening or do we let the chips fall where they may?
What can be done to remedy the situation of the Black father in relation to the child, the family and the community?
Up-and-coming Alternative R&B/Hip-Hop artist, Jordan King, released her very 1st single, entitled “SCARED”, on Halloween. Take an intimate trip with her as she seduces you into submission while revealing her temptations in this sexually charged anthem, but you MUST remember one rule: Don’t Be SCARED.
While in LA, Jordan collaborated with producer Donnie B. to record this eerie, yet sexy track. Jordan pulls influences from a wide variety of artists from Prince, to Missy Elliot, to Teyana Taylor, and definitely does not hold back.
This show is a very important—and may I say—critical show that involves us who are known as ‘empaths’ or ‘emotional intuitives’. What I mean by this is that an empath or emotional intuitive person is someone who feels other people’s pain as their own as well as one who takes on the burdens of the world, without even knowing it. This person is also someone who cannot tell whether this energy is their own or another’s and it can be a living hell on earth, to say the least. That is why I am devoting an entire show on this group of people, because as an empath/IE myself, I feel incredibly burdened most times—as if I was cursed from birth to take on this mantel—one that I call the ‘garbage disposal’ of the human race. That is because—as you all know—a garbage disposal is a piece of electrical equipment under the kitchen sink that cuts food waste into very small pieces so that water will carry it away—so in essence, it is a dump—a place to get rid of all of the junk that you don’t want or need any more in the kitchen. This is what an empath feels like—the garbage dump for the human race. So hold onto your seats, because this show will take you into the world of the emotional empath/intuitive and show you what it's really like to have the world on your shoulders (figuratively and sometimes even literally)...
1 Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
2 Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
3 Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his[a];
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
4 Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;" (Psalm 100:1-4)
