State of the Young Black Man 2016

    in Motivation

It's our second annual State of the Young Black Man address with Entrepreneur Marquis Coates and Young Activist Caleb Jackson.

If your not a young man, this will be a most enlivening, informational, and engaging address for your little brother, nephew, and any parents of young men.

How do we show them that school is not a right now job, but the foundation of your future? How do we keep them in school?

Despite making up just 13% of the population, blacks commit around half of homicides in the United States. Where do we start? Turning criminals into students and upstanding citizens sounds like an impossible charge.. but it's possible; we have to believe it is, but how? How is it possible?

Also, how do we become better young black fathers, realistically and perceptionally?

Entrepreneur Marquis Coates and Young Activist Caleb Jackson will be rejoining us for a compelling panel discussion!

    Is Black, Power?

    in Politics

The black dollar stays in the black community for approximately, 6 hours. This is just long enough to get a man's hair cut and the woman's hair done. In other communities their dollar may stay for days and in some, it doesn't leave at all. What is it that we don't understand about how it is imperative for us to spend with our own? Why don't we do business with each other?

Why is there so much violence among us? Is the crime personal or is it socio-economic? Why can't we get along?

What will it take for us to be a united front like other cultures? Do we have a culture? What role has religion played?

Why do our neighborhoods look the way they do? Is it that we don't care or is it that we don't understand truly how we got here?

How did integration help or hurt us?

What is the solution or solutions to getting us to move ahead?

What is the answer? What have/would other cultures do that we have not or failed to do collectively?

Can the answer be found in local or national Government, what should they do? Why are the most " policed " areas over- ridden with crime, whose responsible for this? Is Gun - control the answer and what kind of regulations are needed? We will discuss this and much more tonight
