The Boy Scouts’ Motto is Be Prepared! But what could have possibly prepared eleven, twelve and even fifteen year olds for encounters with sexual predators? Especially when the same predators were suppose to teach these children high moral values. There are hundreds of accounts of these sexual molestation cases contained in what is termed the “Perversion Files” or "ineligible volunteer files". According to the Scouts these files were meant to be a “buffer” to prevent the predators from re-entering scouting. Unfortunately there have been numerous failures. After analyzing the files it was determined that in many instances sexual deviants were kicked out of the Scouts only to be allowed back in at a different location and sometimes under a different name. The stories are horrendous! The stories tell in somewhat explicit detail of boys being subjected to nudity, being fondled and raped by their Scout Masters. Keep in mind these are children. Keep in mind the Boy Scouts’ motto, “Be Prepared”. Be prepared for what and by whom?
Certainly, it would have been wonderful if these boys were prepared in some foolproof manner for these encounters with immoral predators. But who would have prepared them? The Boy Scouts? With their history, how likely would that be? And how would they have been prepared? These are just some of the questions we’ll seek to gain answers to through the Holy Scriptures in this program.

Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy are two of my favorite people in the self reliance/prepping media. They have been doing high quality shows on medicine, first aid, essential herbs and gardening, as well as slipping a thousand other parcels of important information on becoming self reliant, into the excellent string of shows they have done over the last three years.
This coming week on Rifleman Radio they will be discussing methods of "Collapse Medicine", which is how you can start thinking about first aid and treating injuries and illnesses to yourself and your loved ones in the event of any kind of cessation of services situation.
Dr. Bones and Nurse Amy have a weekly radio show that I would like you guys to start listening to. It is one of the best ways I know to spend a couple of hours every week makiing sure you are doing all you can to educate yourself and become more prepared to care for yourselves and your loved ones.
Boy Scout collectors that have been in the hobby a long time know the Trade-O-Ree scene pretty well. Your typical show is long on grey haired attendees and short on walk in traffic. But there is another way. John Ryan has been thinking outside the box for going on three decades with the Lone Star TOR in Grapevine Texas. This year his show will include everything from a collections merit badge group to a youth patch auction that resembles musical chairs. On Saturday the show will be the host for an official Philmont Staff Association reunion to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Scout ranch. With an expected crowd of 150+ just for that add on piece you can bet there will be some "walk through" traffic at this show. Tonight John Ryan is my guest on Scouting Hot Finds Radio to discuss his secret sauce for having a successful TOR. If you want to hear some outside the box ideas that would really shake up the hobby listen in. You might even get an explanation for another event on the schedule called patch golf!
