The Rising Apple Report is back after a brief hiatus! On board for the 21st episode is Sam Maxwell, with Danny Abriano joining him to catch up on all the Metsian happenings since we were last on the air. Speaking of which, we last came to you just before the disastrous first 2 games of the Marlins series, with 2 emotional come-from-behind victories following before Jon Niese's rocky outing on Sunday. We'll break down the goods and the bads of the last week of Mets baseball. As the White Sox come to National League New York for the first time in the Metsian Era with our old friend Robin Ventura to boot, James from Southside Showdown debriefs us on his 2013 Chigaco White Sox. And last but not least, we'll discuss some minor league action, including Zack Wheeler's last two solid starts and the debate over when he should be promoted.
The Rising Apple Report is back after the shenanigans that went on at Citi Field this weekend. Hosting Epidode 20 is Sam Maxwell, with staff writer Rich Sparago joining to talk the Metsian weekend that was and the Metsian week that will come. Many, many things went wrong during the three-game sweep at the hands of the Phillies in the Citi. Rich and Sam will break down what went wrong, including the slackin' offense, the bullpen blowup and some Terry Collins boneheadedness. Much to the chagrin of the Terry Collins detractors, the Mets head down to Miami for their first visit of the year, facing a Marlins team they joined in the 2nd division a lot earlier this season. Alex of Marlin Maniac will call in to debrief us on his favorite team. So, tune in at 6:30 PM EST for the latest edition of the Rising Apple Report!
On the next edition of Fiber Hooligan, my guest will be Nathania Apple, co-owner of Purlescence Yarns in Sunnyvale, California. Her designs have appeared in Knitty, Twist Collective, Blue Moon Fiber Arts, and on Ravelry.com. Her passion for color & texture meet in the intricate workings of lace, cables & colorwork. Nathania is an award-winning image consultant, certified color designer, and yoga instructor. When not in the shop, she spends time with her husband, three daughters, and three dogs in downtown San Jose?and teaching Yoga Tune Up®, a therapeutic yoga technique.
Nathania is also one of the most beautiful souls I have ever met. She'll be talking with us about what it's like to run a yarn shop, her philosophies on the industry, her approach toward customer service & building a community, and about a charity project that she's working on in her store with her partners. Everyone who meets Nathania falls in love with her… and if you tune in next week, you will too.
