Politics Done Right: Trans-Pacific Partnership #TPP

    in Politics

The Trans- Pacific Partnership (TPP) is a convoluted and controversial subject. Those against it are easy to find, but those who support it are a little more subdued.

For example, there are electoral ramifications: how much longer do we wait for Hillary to make her views known; what do we do if she supports it or remains evasive; where do other major party candidates, like Rand, Ted, and Marco, stand. Green Party Candidate Jill Stein has already announced that she is against passage of the TPP for example. How do we mobilize if it passes?

Let's bring it on! Guest co-hosts Jeanene Louden and Tim Danahey will lead the discussion.

    Freddie Gray Murder Baltimore Protest

    in Politics

Politics is war without bloodshed and war is an extension of politics..There has to be a re evaluation of politics it has to be a definition of politics that's relevant to Black people.Create and conduct a revolutionary platform.Anything that you don't control will be used as a weapon against you..Baltimore is a puppet regime,Did you notice how the Governor was looking at the Mayor? The system is incapable of changing itself,As repression increase people will respond in this method as you have seen in Baltimore. There's a divisiveness in the Black community today, what you have is cultural nationalist and political nationalist. The oppressor knows if you can keep the people thinking culturally(Empire T.V. Show,Gangster Rap Music etc) WE won't move politically. To understand America you must begin thinking political.Just about every law that has been passed in American has been of repressive nature towards Black people. The Omnibus Street Crime Bill of 1968 is very rampart today. The anti riot bill told Black folks when and how they can travel. The Macran Act of 1950,created concentration camps in America for Black people.

Cara & Scott Prior (for AZ LD16), Yolanda Bejarano on Stopping Fast Track of TPP

    in Politics Progressive

Last year Cara Prior & her husband Scott Prior ran to represent their Legislative District 16 (Arizona House & Arizona Senate, respectively). In a difficult year for Democrats across the nation, Cara and Scott came up short on winning their seats in the legislature. If you ask many politicians, though, persistence pays off in politics for the hard-working & determined representatives of the people. Cara and Scott have again declared for the offices they sought last year.

Tune in to hear from these progressive champions as they launch their 2016 campaigns for House & Senate in Arizona Legislative District 16 out of Apache Junction, Arizona. The Priors are champions for the working and middle classes, animals, the environment, fair trade, the LBGT community, net neutrality and many other progressive causes. They are co-hosts of the show "Progressive Voices of AZ" on Fridays.

On a recent edition of "Progressive Voices of AZ," Cara and Scott hosted Arizona activist Yolanda Bejarano on stopping the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) and the Fast Track option of said "free trade agreement" with Asian countries. As Ms. Bejarano will reveal, previous free trade agreements approved by the United States have been disasters for American job creation and have hurt America's workers, as well as the economy of the United States.

With progressive champions like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders in the U.S. Senate on her side, Ms. Bejarano joins The Social Spitball Show to get the rest of us on board to stopping the TPP and its Fast Track. Tune in and find out how you can help in this very important (and historic) effort!!

Barbara Dee & Bram Sarkowski are ready to "Put PROGRESS in Progressive" as we hear from these three progressive champions!!

    Let's get the conversation going...

Heroes of Katrina: Ten Years After - Pets and Storms

    in Books

Call in or ‘log in’ Tuesday Evening May 5th at 8:00 p.m. eastern and 7:00 p.m. central time, 6:00 p.m. mountain time, and 5:00 p.m. Pacific time.

Welcome to the Heroes of Katrina: 10 Years After

    Pets and Storms

The demographics and statistics are amazing.  There are 2.5 animals (cats/dogs…etc. for every American home).

When a population of almost a million evacuates an area and is forced to leave their pets behind…the result is 2.5 million animals…homeless…ownerless…destitute.  This was the situation during and after Hurricane Katrina.  Indeed the animal issue was largely overlooked by all the rescuing agencies Federal and otherwise.

After Katrina, the animal population was largely overlooked within the rescue and aid infrastructure.  All of the guests on Tuesday's show were on the ground and dedicated to the rescue of the animals left behind.

With hurricane season starting June 1st, this show is timely and hopefully can be used as a resource for the animal lovers of the Gulf Coast.

Please join us this very special evening as we welcome our returning guest, Award Winning Author Jenny Pavlovic.  We will discuss an extremely important topic....preparing our beloved pets for a hurricane.  Jenny Pavlovic, animal rescuer and author of the award winning book, “The 8 States of Hurricane Kate,” will share very valuable advice and insight regarding the necessary precautionary measures needed to safeguard our furry friends and all animal creatures BEFORE a hurricane strikes. Hurricane season is fast approaching - June 1 through November 30, 2015. It's not too early to listen and learn what to do in advance. Please don't wait until it's too late. Feel free to call in and share, comment, question, discuss with Jenny.
