    James Richards shares Life Lessons

    in Lifestyle

James Richards of Intergreet shares his life lessons.

James was a successful businessman in New Zealand – built a large corporation with branches in several countries. We were listed on the Stock Exchange. Then on Black Friday, October 1987 my life changed forever. I went from extreme wealth to being broke in a matter of days.

We decided to start over again in USA, so together with my wife and three sons we headed to California to build an even greater business empire.  But God had other plans for us. The incredible experience of being wealthy and suddenly becoming poor, forced me to ask myself this question, “Is life only about making money and owning many possessions?”  When my mind started to open to other possibilities, God started speaking to me and I responded by becoming a follower of Jesus Christ. That was when my real life began.

The Church I joined recognized my leadership experience and fast-tracked me to ordination within my denomination, the Reformed Church in America.  I felt led to start planting new churches in South Asia in Muslim countries – we now have 16 congregations.  It has been both very difficult and fruitful. Too many Christians had only a cursory knowledge of the scriptures so we decided to present the Bible in short, easy to understand segments that could be viewed on a Smart Phone, Tablet or TV. So we launched the 10 Minute Bible program. This is a ten minute long video teaching of the Bible.

Kim Weiss shares life lessons & gift ideas for Mother's Day with Sunrise Sunset

    in Lifestyle

"I never thought that my hobby of photographing the sun would turn into my 'passion project,' never mind a book,” says photographer/author Kim Weiss about Sunrise, Sunset: 52 Weeks of Awe & Gratitude (HCI Books – Fall 2014 -- ISBN; 9780757318085-- $10.95). "Odd as it is to go from publicist to 'author,' I was moved to share the sense of awe I get to experience every day from my 14th floor terrace.” Her universally loved sunrises (& sunsets) fill the pages, accompanied by the sage words of inspiring people we admire. Each week commentary from people like Candace Bushnell, Lisa Nichols, Jack Canfield, Joan Halifax, Marty Becker, Marci Shimoff and many, many more complement the visual beauty of the sun rising and setting.

Sunrise, Sunset (which happens to fit nicely inside a bag, or perch on a nightstand), is the ultimate gift book for saying "thank you,” sharing a blessing, or offering an oasis for spiritual awakening. From sunrise to sunset this book will be a perennial source of inspiration.

A significant portion of the proceeds from book sales goes to AVDA – an organization dedicated to helping and bringing hope to women who have suffered domestic violence. For more information on this very worthwhile cause, please visit: www.avdaonline.org.

Kim Weiss (Boynton Beach, FL) has been a publicist in the book industry for many years and coaches other writers aspiring to be bestselling authors. Her love of nature and photography began when she was just a little girl

Lessons From Baltimore and The Clinton Foundation

    in Self Help

The City of Baltimore has had 32 years of Democrat governance. Likewise Detroit and Chicago. There are important take-aways from looking at the current conditions in those cities..especially the riots in Baltimore. Its not just about Democrats...but it is about economic policies and government subsidies that supress individuality and encourage group think and dependence.

We'll discuss Steven A. Smith, ESPN African-American sportscaster, who goes further than politics. He blames African-Americans for "looking outward rather than inward" for the causes of their current plight rather than racism.

And of course....the ever-expanding issues with the Clinton Foundation and why we should care.
