Recently thankful Americans are cursing all of their Thanksgiving leftovers. Hopeful bargain hunters spent Black Friday cursing each other, and in Ferguson, MO., people are cursing their pizza cravings after burning down their only Little Caesar’s. People are angry man; they’re really angry, and it all stems from a common thread…People are once again hating on the Holy Baby Jesus and his upcoming birthday, so…
Jay, Matt, and the IWS Radio players recap the recent Thanksgiving holiday, analyze the current and ongoing outbursts of anger, and kickoff the 2014 War on Christmas. No nativity scene is safe from secularists and any bell ringer or Wal*Mart greeter who utters Happy Holidays will be promptly pummeled by a soldier of Christ. Jay and Matt try to make sense of it all, rein in the madness, and take your phone calls at 661.244.9852 as IWS Radio braces itself and America for the 2014 War on Christmas.
Some people have really quick tempers and will cuss you out and dismiss you but some of those very same people will put themselves right back in harm's way and deal with those same people they cut off like nothing ever happened. What does it say about those people and why does it leave our heads spinning.
June 25th 2011, the North American Championship Vacancy was filled when Shaun Tempers defeated Ace Rockwell in the middle of a NWA Anarchy ring. Since becoming Champion, Tempers was afforded the opportunity to take part in the Four Way Match in Ohio to claim a new NWA Worlds Champion and rack up over 20 Championship defenses from Cornelia to Nashville with stops all over the South East, with each defense seeing "The Temptation" walk away still your North American Champion. Tempers has victories over Arrick Andrews, Mikal Judas, Ace Rockwell , and Se7en, just to name a few. With a match signed for NWA Mountain State in the works as an opportunity to win the NWA Anarchy Heavyweight Championship looming we are proud to have Shaun Tempers on TalkNWA. We'll with Tempers working in the South East, his up coming schedule, what he thinks of his contemporaries Chance Prophet and Adam Pearce, and what is next on his mind.
Plus we'll play our interview with 16 year old phenom Ryan Kidd from SoCal Pro Wrestling.
Nothing tempers a man more than experience. I'm wondering why there is so much concern to 'rehabiliate' men who simply lack ability. That discussion isn't new and where has it taken us? Nowhere! The lamentation plagues the Craft and corrosively undermines the philosophy of masonry. We intitiate a fellow without knowing him. Proof of his nature and intellect surfaces onlhy after we have welcomed him into lodge, on a hope he won't disappoint. Sometimes it takes months, sometimes years but always the truth comes out. To only initiate worthy men would require a change of thinking that is beyond the Order. We would be openly selective. Today we act with desparation, recruitment based on a pulse. One senior of a degree-mill lodge explained this was a steady source of revenue- it kept annual fees low. I hope one day I learn to overcome the sense of repulsion I felt toward him. I'm imperfect too and not there yet.
We need to be so much more candid, honest and accepting than we have been because it is toxic to masonry to determine some members are inadequate. Not at all. They are what they are. They get what they get. They give what they feel is in their best interest and there is no more. Move on. Your obligation pointed to a path of enlightenment. That is what you took from initiation, that is your intelligence; your personality; your talents and ambitions. But how does a good mason justify this sense of hubris? For a time, the Romans made it an offence to laud your position over another. And to suggest it should and can be corrected? Isn't that a bit wreckless?
Nothing distinguises superficial masons more than dissonance between his words and his behaviour. Does he act as his words? or does he even understand what he says? Where has the spirit of masonry gone? Perhaps it's hiding with the music.
