    in Business

Take Charge of Your Productivity - Getting Unstuck:

You may call it procrastination, some call it frustration or overwhelm, and in severe cases it is called depression. We all get stuck but the question is how quickly can we get unstuck. Being stuck is a state of mind because we are so focused on the negative that we lose sight of what we want and how to get there.

Understanding the four elements of Championship Psychology prepares you with four groupings of new strategies for getting unstuck. It is nice to have many options at our finger tips because if one does not work you have other avenues to explore.

I am excited to have Sky Blossoms on the show again, who will help us understand what being stuck really is and will share with you multiple strategies to move forward.

    Guest Bio:

Sky Blossoms is a relationship strategist for high-performers, as well as an author and speaker.  She received her medical degree, and then for more than a decade she avidly studied psychology and alternative therapies and approaches to support her work on human relationships. Sky’s humble beginnings of growing up in Ukraine sparked her drive for extraordinary life experiences and prompted a relentless search for answers.  Her personal journey through pain, disappointments, and failures taught her vital lessons and led to the discovery of bliss and fulfillment that she now shares with others.

Leadership: How to conduct your orchestra

    in Business

One of my mentors who was a great leader in my eyes, knew just how to inspire me. He told me he couldn’t motivate me that my motivation was within and it was his job to remove the obstacles between me and my motivation. This was very impactful for me and I use this as the basis in my coaching. In my mind Leadership is more like coaching. It is knowing how to inspire and bring out the best in others through recognizing their skills and abilities, enabling them and supporting them in removing the obstacles in their way.  Leadership is at the crux of productivity. That is self leadership as well as leadership of a team. Leaders do need to lead by example. When leadership fails, the team is less effective and efficient and can cost the organization significant sums in lost profits that result from direct and indirect costs.

Think of your team as a group of musicians. Each one plays beautifully on their own when playing the instrument of their choice. Look at the power that group of musicians has together as they become an orchestra. That is where magic is made as they play together seamlessly. Today we will look what a conductor has to teach about leadership.

    Our Guest: Hugh Ballou

Hugh Ballou teaches leaders around the globe how to build synergy with teams and how to build effective processes that bring success to any organization - no matter how big or how small. He brings a wealth of experience as a prominent conductor of musical ensembles to his innovative leadership approach.

He is author of multiple books on Transformational Leadership and works as executive coach, process facilitator, and strategist. As a powerful motivational speaker, he teaches the fine art of leadership employed every day by musical conductors.

"Being You Thursday" image: Who’s in charge of your life?

    in Motivation

That might sound like a strange question. But bear with me here. How often have you said something like:

I’d start my own business if only my partner was more supportive.
    It’s my uncle’s fault that I smoke.
Well, I wouldn’t drink so much if it wasn’t for my friends.
My boss really stresses me out.
I can’t quit my job to travel the world … what would people think?
I have to lose weight so that I can look more attractive.

In each of these cases, there’s a “should” or a “can’t” that’s been dictated by someone other than you. Perhaps it’s a family member, your peer group, or society as a whole. And many of us are prone to ditching responsibility in this way. I know that I, for one, find it much easier to blame my problems on someone else than to admit that they’re down to me!

    Take 100% Responsibility

Several of the personal development writers who I read – Jack Canfield and Steve Pavlina amongst them – emphasize how important it is to take full responsibility for your life.

Yes, of course other people have an effect on us. Perhaps it’s your partner’s fault that your joint credit card is maxed out, or maybe your grandma fed you too much candy as a child and that’s why you have a mouthful of fillings. But in every case, you have a responsibility for what you’re doing about it now.

    The Seas of Time

    in Business

A sailboat has the amazing ability to withstand the storm. It is build to sway side to side and although it may tip to the side, it is rare to capsize despite the challenging weather conditions. It flips right back up.  That is like the human condition. The stronger our psychology the stronger our boat to flip back up quicker.

Today we are going to talk about how to weather the storm and strengthen our boat and sails to tap into our greater potential so that we may discover new opportunities like new lands being discovered at sea.

    Radio Show Guest Profile

I use these sea analogies because todays guest is former Sea Captain James Evanow. James Evanow is an international speaker, author of his book "Wisdom From the Sea", as well as an empowerment coach and sea captain.
