Management consultant and golf enthusiast Susan Ascher is President and CEO of The Ascher Group. Read the name carefully. We met because we were mistaken for each other on line. Susan is the author of Dude, Seriously, It's Not All About You, a light-hearted (as the title makes clear) view of how manners have changed - or haven't changed - in the digital age. She followed that up with Dude, Seriously, Get Your ASK in Gear, a practical guide to leadership.
Susan has won numerous awards for entrepreneurship, including Small Businessperson of the Year, inclusion in the Top 25 Leading Women Entrepreneurs in the State of New Jersey. We'll talk about that and about the messages of her books.
Tonight we welcome author and Jonestown survivor Laura Johnston Kohl to the show. When 914 members of Peoples Temple and four visiting Americans died in Guyana, South America on November 18, 1978, Laura Johnston Kohl survived. She was one of 87 who lived through the trauma.
After participating with the Black Panthers, and attending Woodstock, Laura moved into Peoples Temple in California in 1970, and was an active and enthusiastic member until the day it ended. She moved to Guyana in March 1977. She frequently traveled between Georgetown and Jonestown, a 24-hour boat ride, but moved into Jonestown in October 1978. Laura’s survival was a fluke.
It took twenty years for Laura to rebuild her life and have the determination to research this tragedy. The first ten years were spent in Synanon. Then, she reunited with many of the other survivors to put the pieces together and to get some understanding. After ten years she wrote her autobiography.

Some things just make the hair on your back stand up. This is exactly what happened when I watched Raven Symone say that every religion has its time such as pagan. I wanted to explore her comment further but I couldn't, at least no with her. So this has become the inspiration for this weeks show on "Me, God and A Cup of Coffee". "Christianity Today and, Is It Still Relevant?" - How do you feel about Christianity? Is it relevant in business, education, for single women, families, etc.? Religion today, Christianity today. What's the diferrence? Is there a difference? I know it's controversial but, that's why this is Real Women Real Talk. Please watch the video then plan to join me Saturday morning at 8 a.m. with friends. It's going to be a good one. #347-996-5568 #RWRT2015 COME HAVE A CUP OF COFFEE ON ME. #RealWomenRealTalk
Me God and A Cup Of Coffee" is a show that recognizes that every day must start with a morning conversation with God.

“When winning becomes too important, it blurs concern for the way our actions affect others; it necessarily sets up someone on the opposing side who must “lose.” The win/??lose mentality prominent in our society is a symptom of a much larger problem—a spiritual problem, in fact.” - Dr. Margaret Placentra Johnston
After practicing Optometry for over three decades - helping people to see better in the physical world - Dr. Margaret Placentra Johnston now offers clearer vision of a different sort - a broader perspective about religion and spirituality than what the conventional world typically recognizes.
The author of Faith Beyond Belief: Stories of Good People Who Left Their Church Behind, Dr. Johnston feels the spiritual development stages have the power to bring an end to religious intolerance and should be part of the general knowledge of our culture. Faith Beyond Belief has won a number of awards including being named the Gold Winner of the 2013 Nautilus Book Award in Religion/Spirituality. Visit www.FaithBeyondBelief-book.com.
