A brand-spankin'-new DVD box set of classic episodes of the legendary soap As the World Turns has just been released, and since my new pal SUSAN BEDSOW HORGAN --- who was the head writer for World Turns for a time in the mid-'80s, and whose May 2011 appearance on Brandon's Buzz has been far and away my most popular installment of this year --- has some work included in this set (and since I'd been dying to have another chat with her anyway), I was thrilled to invite her --- and, as luck would have it, her great friend THOM RACINA, whose early-'80s work on General Hospital and Days of Our Lives is the stuff of soap legend, and who just happened to be visiting Susan the day I interviewed her --- back to Brandon's Buzz for another chat about a life spent spinning suds!
Investigative journalist Susan Bradford (www.susanbradford.org) will interview former Toynbee Hall Chief Executive Alan Lee Williams on the role of university settlements and community organizing in shaping President Barack Obama's fundamental transformation of the United States.
A friend of the late Baroness Margaret Thatcher, Alan Lee Williams is a former member of the Trilateral Commission, former Director General of the English Speaking Union, former Director of the Atlantic Council of the UK, former Chairman of the William Beveridge Foundation, former President of the Atlantic Treaty Association, and former Chairman of the British National Community of the World Assembly of Youth. A public intellectual who was educated at Ruskin College, Oxford, Mr. Williams was appointed Visiting Profesor of Politics at Queen Mary College, London. In addition to serving in Parliament as an MP for three terms, Mr. Williams was Parliamentary Private Secretary to UK Defense Secretaries Denis Healey and Roy Mason.
A super thrill for me to have two of my favorite writers in television history come onto the show and discuss their careers and talk about their hopes and dreams on the future, and talk about how they met and how their professional relationshop works.

Many years ago I was introduced to the wonders of healthy eating and living by my God sister Vernez Kittrell . I attempted to totally venture into the waters of healthiness with her but was stopped many times for a host of reasons: too much information, not enough information, misinformation, and the list goes on.
My God sister embraced the concept more vigorously but also struggled to stay abreast of the ever changing literature and approaches. Sadly, Vernez lost her battle with cancer and passed away.
The most important lesson I learned from my journey with her is to have balance in my life, live to the fullest and strive to live as healthy as possible.
Seva Life was created as a tool to help you embrace a healthier way of being without so many of the frustrations often encountered. I received my certification in health coaching from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and now focus on the whole health approach to achieving long lasting health changes.
I believe that too much emphasis is being placed on medications and not enough time on identifying the root causes of many of our health issues. Food and environment are primary factors that have really compromised our body’s ability to function - so we feel tired and gain weight.
I am committed to helping my clients realize their long-term dreams through health eating and living.
Two months shy of her third birthday, Susan Goudy was sexually abused by a six-teen-year-old neighbor. The scars from childhood sexual abuse are invisible. Susan was very young when she was sexually abused and did not understand clearly what happened to her and therefore lived in fear for years without an understanding of why. Her poignant memoir reveals how our earliest experiences can influence the character of our health, relationships, and ability to achieve our desires.
Join author and expert, Susan Goudy, and me on Tuesday, July 1, 10-11 A.M. CT US, as we discuss her inspiring memoir, The Journey from Fear to Love is Shorter Than You Think.
Dreamers Radio is excited to welcome Susan Stoker, author of Outback Hearts.
Taken from Susan Stoker's Amazon page:
"Susan Stoker has a heart as big as the state of Texas where she lives but this all American girl has also spent the last fourteen years living in Missouri, California, Colorado, and Indiana. She is quite the romantic and even met the love of her life on "Hotmail classified" before online dating and sites like match.com even existed!
Susan has been reading romance novels since middle school and once crossed out the names of the main characters in a book and changed them to her own and to the name of her crush. She's been writing scenes for years, developing her unique writing style.
Susan loves writing but her true passion is adopting dogs from rescue groups and shelters. Susan and her husband have had a total of nine "rescued" dogs since 2000 including a variety of basset hounds and bloodhounds. She has recently branched out and adopted a basset/terrier mix who acts more like a terrier than a basset (i.e. digging, eating a couch and being hyper). If you love romance and want to help her support adopting great dogs, be sure to check out her work."
You can find out more about her, keep informed of all her news, and snag a copy of her book at the below links!

Two months shy of her third birthday, Susan Goudy was sexually abused by a sixteen-year-old neighbor. The scars from childhood sexual abuse are invisible. Susan was very young when she was sexually abused and did not understand clearly
what happened to her and therefore lived in fear for years without an understanding of why. Although she unconsciously buried this horrific experience deep
within herself, the deep-rooted fear that resulted continued to influence her decisions, happiness, relationships, health, and more for many years. This fear consumed much of her life and paralyzed her in many ways.
In The Journey from Fear to Love Is Shorter Than You Think, Goudy describes the
awakening into life that finally freed her from the mental, physical, and spiritual
chains of her past. A memoir written from a spiritual point of view, this book is
sprinkled with self-help tips that will give readers the tools they need to get
“present and focused” and to take an honest look at what they are or are not doing to create the lives they currently live.
Goudy knows from firsthand experience that living in the shadow of your past can
cause you to forget that you have the power to take charge of your life. No matter
what may or may not lie in your own past, Susan Goudy can help you become
more awake, aware, clear, and empowered. It’s time to stop being a victim and to
leave excuses behind. It’s time to realize just how powerful and wonderful you
are, have been, and will always be!
