The NNIA presents Recovery Radio Fresno with Louis Angel and Jeffrey Smith of Dunamis Inc. in Fresno California.
This great program in Fresno helps meet the needs of the community by providing substance abuse services. Jeffrey Smith who is an experinced substance abuse specialist will be our guest speaker for the show. He will talk a little about himself and the program. Jeffrey wrote " My name is Jeffrey Smith. I came to Fresno by way of Wisconsin after I was discharged from the U.S.Navy. I have a background in youth/family counseling and mediation. I have a passion to see people’s lives transformed though a personal relationship with Jesus. It is because of my faith that I have been blessed with the opportunities to serve others in many capacities. From my time as a camp counselor to my work with the Rawhide Boys Ranch in Wisconsin, to my tour of duty in the Navy, I have dedicated my life to serving others in any way I can. I am now working for Dunamis Inc. which is an outpatient alcohol and drug clinic. We provide an array of services to include mental health and conflict counseling. I recently graduated with my Master’s degree in Peacemaking and Conflict Studies, and am currently pursuing a Doctorate in Transformational Leadership. None of this was inevitable. I struggled with ADHD and the resulting depression and life chaos. I have experienced a close friend commit suicide, and have had long bouts with unemployment and underemployment. Life is challenging and we often try and cope in unhealthy ways. I am blessed to have had great people in my life at the right time to keep me from making really destructive decisions. The combination of faith and community has been powerful in my life.

Conversations with blogger Blu Jewel on her life this far. Rescheduled from 4/1/103 @ 6:30 pm.
Blu Jewel is a 47 year old multi-talented and multi-faceted mother and Configuration Management Analyst, who uses words to express; release; inspire; encourage and to learn.
I’m pretty easy going; what you see is what you get, and I don’t have time for pretense or bullsh*t; it’s too damn taxing and depletes the authenticity of being myself. I’ve wasted too much time living an unauthentic life, almost three decades of which I self-injured. I’m currently about 10 years in recovery from Self-Injury.Aside from writing, I love to travel, cook, and spend time with family and friends. I’d rather be active than idle and tend to make the most out of whatever life throws at me. I live to love and love to live; there’s not much more reward for being alive than that.
In this edition of the Recovery Radio Podcast host David Gerber is joined by Michael Boccia for a discussion about relationships in early recovery. Erica Tucci, LMT, CPC, GLC, Stroke Survivor and Author of Radiant Survivor. Erica had a full life as a corporate manager of a Fortune 500 company, a healing arts business owner and an author of three books. It all came to a screeching halt in June 2011 when she had a stroke that left her completely paralyzed on her right side.
During Erica's recovery, she gained much wisdom about what’s really important in life, and she re-entered the world with a new mission: to use her story as an inspiration for others facing life challenges, which we all have, big or small.
That story can be found in Erica's new book, Radiant Survivor: How to Shine and Thrive through Recovery from Stroke, Cancer, Abuse, Addiction and Other Life-Altering Experiences, launching on November 19th, 2013.
Today, even while still in recovery herself, Erica continues the work she was doing before her stroke, helping women find their "yin radiance" through their authentic voice and their own healing. And to help others going through their own life-altering experiences, she is developing a trauma recovery coaching program based on her Radiant Survivor book. She considers herself the Radiance Muse, inspiring others to live life brilliantly.
