Hosts Phil Bowermaster and Stephen Gordon dare to take on a subject that others won't touch: are comic superheroes plausible? Are some more plausible than others?
What are the chances now or in the future that we will see anyone with the powers of:
Batman / Green Arrow
The Fantastic Four
Thor / Green Lantern
Are there technologies -- current, emerging, or that we may see someday -- that would make it possible for human beings to possess and leverage the same kinds of amazing powers these fictional people do?
Tune in and explore.
Looking at the differences between many of our favorite superheroes. Who we like better DC or Marvel and are they the only choices.

Who is Desert Poets Moving Company? Their name says it all. Two artists, Megan McDonald and Frankie Commans, from the Arizona desert whose greatest desire is to move their listeners. Formed in early 2013 they have released seven singles with 6 more currently in production and signed and released their debut album this year. Everything you see and hear is their own work, from the writing/ and performing through production and marketing. DPMC’s hope is to combine their efforts with a label who will allow them to express the music inside, while still giving guidance to produce the highest art form possible: Music that Moves! To Die or Not to Die for a Green Card! The eternal comedy that is the immigration system, brought to life! The movie that ridicules the phony L.A. scene and the bitches that celebrate it! Come feel the rage! It's a real-life story; an immigration fairy-tale! When Helena needs to get her passport to take on a lucrative modeling job in Paris, she goes to her shady mobster pals to help. But will the Feds catch on? Will her lone friend, the renegade pizza-guy-rock star Auto, be able to save the day? Or will he lose his mind having to deal with the bullshit L.A. lifestyle? Thus is the premise of the 2013 Audience NIYY Award comedy/drama film, L.A. Superheroes, written, produced, co-directed and starring Yelena Popovic. Yelena’s story is not the typical one we think of when it comes to immigrants, however she faced many of the same issue that are being debated today and her film gives a different perspective on the subject. Yelena lives in Beverly Hills with her husband, Alexandros Potter and their daughter

Well folks, because of the gravity of events evidenced from the past few days, it appears that we may have to conduct another mashup broadcast, courtesy of Afronerd Radio. So let's make this simple and plain. Check out and listen to your "podcast enterprise crew" (Dburt, Capt. Kirk and Daryll B.), this Saturday at 6pm as they discuss the following pop/pulp/political issues: we finally tackle the Esquire blog piece entitled, "Are Black Superheroes Good for Black People?"; can you believe that the vintage walkman used by Star-Lord in Guardians of The Galaxy is going for BIG bucks on Ebay? And could this be an indicator that Guardians is destined for Star Wars-esque status cinematically?; weighing in on the Michael Brown/Ferguson, Missouri police shooting as more information gets released; basketballer player, Gilbert Arenas twitter rants against Rev. Al; Dburt has absolutely no summer time TV programming complaints (except having enough time to watch what is available) ; Is there any iota of truth about Disney looking to buy the WB?; MSNBC journalist, T.J. Holmes gets critiqued in The Root for suggesting that Black men/boys comply when encountering police; Comic Book Resources highlights the enduring relevance of Marvel's Luke Cage in the wake of real life Black male trials and tribulations; discussing the rift between Prince Namor and the Black Panther and can there be away for a Panther book to sustain readership if a new series is considered?; highlighting Black nerd/comic blogs of interest (i.e. Blacknerdgirl.com; Blackfolksmakingcomics; Africomics, etc) and lastly, speaking of nerds, Dburt "rewinds the tape" showing how the "nerd" pejorative is still alive among folks of color.
