THIS WEEK: Fun in the Sun:
Playing it “Safe” after a TBI Watermelon, BBQ, hotdogs, and ice-cream…swimming pools, bikinis, flip flops and towels….gardening, picnics, flowers and naps under shade trees….beaches, picnics, road trips, and vacations. What comes to mind when you see or hear these words? SUMMER!
For many of us, we enjoy being outdoors, soaking up the sun and fresh air, working up a sweat gardening or playing in the yard, listening to the sweet tunes of the birds and crickets, and watching butterflies flutter and the bees buzzing by. We also see an increase of outdoor physical activities such as cycling, riding motorcycles, skateboarding, swimming, waterskiing, rock climbing, baseball, and jumping on the trampoline. What do these sports have in common? The need to take precautions to prevent injury, especially brain injuries.
But what about after a TBI….could we still enjoy these activities? How did you adapt to these activities you once loved to do? What are alternative safe activities that we can participate in, enjoy and still feel like we are having fun in the sun?
Join Kevin tonight as he shares his insights about the importance of returning to leisure after a TBI, acquiring new interests and skills, and taking the necessary precautions to have a safe and enjoyable summer season. Tune in tonight at 7:00 PM PDT to learn more and call in to share your own perspective of Fun in the Sun and what works for you!

Demons? Who doesn't have them? Who hasn't experienced a period in their life where they couldn't seem to shake off some type of negative behavior? The thing that can make our demons seem worse than they are is when the support system that everyone needs breaks down and people wanna act like they ain't never do nothing bad. Ask yourself this:
Who hasn't tried to stop smoking or drinking and failed at it a time or two?
What drug addict hasn't tried to clean up their lives but backslid? Let alone those who sell drugs or prostitute or solicit prostitution as well.
What adulterer or cheater hasn't tried to be more faithful and monogamous to their spouses or lover but kept on cheating?
How many people just can't seem to stick to that diet and stop overeating or eating unhealthy foods to get their weight down?
Who doesn't want to stop their anti-social behavior?
Who doesn't want to learn how to manage their money better and stop spending so much or shopping until they're broke?
Gambling? Well we know how that goes right?
We gotta keep trying though. We gotta keep battling.
We could go on about demons and our struggle to get rid of them all day but Renee from the City by The Bay AKA Prophetic Dimension will try to work it out amongst our listeners, drop a few spoken word affirmations and we might even pray for a few of y'all because Renee is involved in ministry. Don't worry though because she is as down-to-earth as they come. She understands and she's here to kick it and help and so am I.
So let's do this! Bring your demons and let's see if we can't figure some things out.
Terryl Ebony, Parent Life Coach and Author is the Founder and Director of Misunderstood Youth Development Center in based in N.Y. She is also the Author of Losing Love, having Faith and Finding Hope. Terryl's life's work centers around trying to ensure that parents and children are on the right track to functionality. She understands that in every family there will issues related to the growth and maturity of our young people but she also understands that those issues don't have to cripple us. They don't have to separate us and they don't have to put us in a position where we lose love, faith and support for one another as far as family goes. She understands that if the parent is educated better in the ways of schooling, positive interaction, values and upward mobility that they will pass that onto their children.
It's hard to dispute that when children display behavioral problems in school as well as in the streets that there are usually some issues going on at home that need to be addressed. Terryl Ebony helps these parents to be able to combat these issues with their children so that family services can be avoided. So that the blame game can be avoided. So that incarceration can be avoided. So that funeral services can be avoided for our youth. She has done this for years and is well respected and revered in the state of New York as well as nationally and she will be coming on the show this Wed. to bless us with some good conversation, some good parenting advice and to kick it with us. She may possibly drop a poem or 2 as well. Who knows?
EYE AM DELIGHTED TO HAVE MY SISTER THE ANCIENT NEWCOMER MAMA PEARL JOINING ME ON THIS BROADCAST. MAMA PEARL IS CURRENTLY THE MINISTER OF YOUTH OF THE PG RNA. Provisional Government for The Republic of New Afrika - (PG-RNA) www.provisionalgovernmentrepublicofnewafrika.com. WE WILL BE TALKING OVER THE THINGS THAT MATTER TO US AS A SO CALL AFRICA PEOPLE. Recognizing that Our Youth IS Our Most Valuable Resource - Our Youth have been looked over again and again in a dirty, corrupted societal system that is NOT Our Own and was never meant to be for US.
Do you think that you could ever marry someone again that you were divorced from? Do you think it could or would work the second time around? Do you know people who have done this?
As much as people try to stay together for the sake of the children that they have together, do you think that it's possible to get back together with someone after the two of you have been apart for years and possibly have had children with other people?
With all of the socila networking available that is allowing people to reconnect with people they have been out of touch with for years and sometimes decades do you you think that it's possible to successfully find love with someone that you had a relationship with or had a crush on in high school?
How much do you think that maturity plays into these scenarios? Can any of these second chance scenarios work? Do you know of any? Have you been a part of any? Is it worth trying out? Come talk it out with sun and Ms. Dot and let's see what we can figure out.
