    I don't often talk about my motorcycle accident because it was entirely my fault. Live young and wreckless, win stupid fucking prizes. But today always reminds me of how truly precious and important life is. Well that and how much it really sucks to almost die and break just about everything on the right side of your body. My doctors made it seem like the rod in my right leg would seriously challenge my activity...yea Spartan Races kind of tell you how that went. And now it is a lesson to me in life because at the end of the day if you don't take something from it, it will take something from you. That's how life works, unfortunately we need to have hard lessons and roadblocks thrown in our way to make us better people down the road. Even with something as damaging and devastating like my father's suicide so many years ago, I had to find a path that lead to something positive or I would have dragged it around as negative weight my whole life.


    Anyway, met some people at a hiking point who were curious about all the freedom I had with me so I got to tell them a little about myself and about rising Veteran suicide rates.....and that's what it's all about.

    Sugar Freedom Challenge: 2 Weeks to Go

    As we come into the last 2 weeks of the Sugar Freedom 6 Week Challenge, it's time to hear about Catherine's top fat releasing tips.  Drink your tonic, get in 8 glasses of water, satisfy and quiet your appetite in order to get the results you deserve.  Catherine reveals her book of the week: Keto Clarity by Jimmy Moore with Eric C. Westman, MD.


    Weekly Recipe: Beef Taco Filling.  I use this to fill Red Cabbage leaves.  Simply serve with taco shells for your family members and guests who don't need to go Keto.


    1lb grass fed ground beef, 1 yellow onion, chopped, 4 cloves garlic, minced, 1/2 teaspoon ground cumin, 1/4 teaspoon salt, 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar sheese, 1 jar organic salsa.  In a large skillet combine onion and ground beef and cook until beef is no longer pink.  Add garlic and cook 1 minute. Drain fat and put in your slow cooker. Add cheese, salsa, cumin, and salt.  Cover and cook on high for 3 hours or on low for for 5 hours.  Add tomatoes and shreeded lettuce if desired, and wrap in cabbage leaves to serve.

    19 months in Iraq as a Marine infantryman and sniper gives a man a lot of solitary time to think. What Daniel thought about mostly was home. Nothing tells the story of home in the U.S. better than country music. While on missions, Daniel would write country songs in his head. When he got back to base, he could put down his gun and pick up his guitar. The songs would then come to life. He would let “Country Music Take Him Home” even though he ...was 6,000 miles away.


    Originally from Dillon, South Carolina, Daniel now calls Nashville, Tennessee home. He says, “I miss my band of brothers in the Marine Corps, but I have found a new band of brothers (and sisters) in Nashville’s songwriting community.” Daniel knows there was a time in his life that he was meant to carry a gun in war. Now, is the time in his life that he is meant to carry a guitar and share his unique blend of country music with the world

    Sugar Freedom Challenge Part 2

    Red Cabbage Leaves For Wrap


    Zesty Sauce and avocado Slices


    Fill wraps with ground beef, vegetables, and avocado.  Dip in zesty sauce and enjoy.

    3-4 oz Oven Baked Salmon topped with Crushed Macadamia Nuts


    Large Green Salad with Raspberry Vinaigrette


    1C Strawberries topped with Whipped Heavy Cream and Crushed Macadamia Nuts
