Today’s Discussion: Issues of Life-Blaming Others for Your Mistakes!

It’s much easier to blame others for our mistakes than to admit it’s our fault.  As long as we continue to shift the guilt of error off ourselves and place it upon other individuals who may or may not deserve it, we will not grow and learn from what we did wrong, since we fail to acknowledge that we did it!  What can we do to change this type of behavior?

Estate Planning Tips for Blended Families

    in Legal

Preparing a successful estate plan starts with identifying the traditions, experiences and property that will be handed down to family members.  "Who" will recieve "what" is easy for most families - all assets are transferred to a surviving spouse and children.  But what if the giver is part of a blended family?  That is, the giver has a child or children from one or more prior relationships.   Is there a "fair," "equal," or "best," way to provide for a current spouse and children of the current marriage as well as children from a prior marriage?   Should each child receive the same consideration?  Will the age or relative financial condition of the children have any effect?   Can a prior spouse really be disinherited in order to provide for the current spouse and children?   The water can get muddy, but with a few planning tips, a parent's estate plan for transferring assets at death cn be made a lot clearer and easier.

Love is Stronger than Death with Cynthia Bourgeault

    in Religion

Episcopal priest, writer and internationally known retreat leader Cynthia Bourgeault joins the Rainbow Vision on her new book, Love is Stronger than Death: the Mystical Union of Two Souls. This is a guide-book for those who are called to the path of conscious love. Cynthia relates the intense relationship she had with Brother Raphael Robin, a seventy-year-old Trappist monk and hermit. Their platonic love lasted five years until his death. Both believed that a relationship can continue beyond life. Both studied Western esoteric traditions and believed it was possible for two souls to work and grow together "from her to eternity."  Deeply enriched by Cynthia's knowledge of the teachings of G.I. Gurdjieff and of Christian mysticism, their vibrant, provocative, beautifully written story adds a profound new dimension to our understanding of human love and the possibility of survival beyond the grave.

Cynthia Bourgeault is the author of eight books including: The Wisdom of Jesus, Centering Prayer and Inner Awakening, and The Meaning of Mary Magdalene. She divides her time between solitude at her seaside hermitage in Maine and a demanding schedule traveling globally to teach and spread the recovery of the Christian contemplative and Wisdom path. She is the founding director of both The Contemplative Society and the Aspen Wisdom School.

Strengthening the Families: Issues of Life - What Do I Tell My Children?

    in Religion

Today’s Discussion: Issues of Life-What do I tell my children? There are so many questions that are being asked by our children and young adults regarding the moral standards of our society, in our churches and even within our own family structure that need to be addressed with truth and honesty, yet we shrink away from the responsibility of discussing the issues of life that are affecting us all one way or another.  It’s past time that we have an open discussion and be prepared when you are asked about things that may be unpleasant or controversial.  What do you tell your children?
