Many people feel life is a struggle and they are on the losing side. They often feel that everything and everybody is against them and the stress of just being alive is almost more than they can endure. What about you? Do you have stress that is preventing you from being happy? These feelings often come from efforts to control our environments, conflicts with other people, and an inability to get by. Tensions take many forms and involve such emotions as anger, hate, anxiety, guilt and fear. These bring about physically and emotionally damaging effects which can result in illness.
Of course, we all need some stress to stay alive, awake, and alert. We must learn what our best level of stress is and how to use it to function effectively. We don’t want to allow extreme reactions to envelop us so that day-to-day living gets the better of us. We need to not let the external stress control our lives, but instead control our internal responses so that we can use the power of the Life within us to create our best lives possible.
Join Choices host and author of “You Are More Than Enough,” Judi Moreo, for a discussion on simple and easy ways you can reduce the bad stressors in your life. Whether you are an executive, a stay-at-home mom, or even an astronaut, these techniques are so easy, you can incorporate them into your daily life and you’ll wonder why you didn’t think of them yourself and why you haven’t been doing them all along.

Tonight's special guest is Michelle Bless from Louisville, Kentucky, survivor, activist and volunteer with NAASCA. She's the author of the book "Out of Darkness: the Michelle Bless Story" in which a young girl is abused by her family and ostracized for being associated with Satan. Out of the Darkness is her story of redemption. Born in the northeastern United States to parents from the Caribbean, author Michelle Bless was raised in a home of violence and suspicion. Her father beat her mother and siblings but spared Michelle because of her perceived association with Satan. Even so, this did not save her from other abuses: she witnessed incidents of violence, incest and other horrible, unthinkable acts. One hot summer day in 1997, Michelle writes, she "was introduced to the Lord and denounced Satan," thus beginning the process of giving her life to the Lord. After two years of demonic attacks, she was fully delivered and never looked back. Today she lives for the Lord. Ms Bless says her firsthand knowledge of how low a life can plummet to the depths of despair enables her to understand and relate to what others are facing as they struggle to find God in their lives. Michelle is on a mission to bring as many lost souls to God as possible. She often participates as a volunteer and family member at NAASCA, and over time has contributed many appearances as a panelist for the "Stop Child Abuse Now" talk show.

Tonight's special guest is Sandi Atmore from California, a survivor and returning NAASCA family member who's a Life Coach & Certified Grief Recovery Specialist. Her childhood was tumultuous and she suffered physical, sexual and verbal abuse from the time she was 2 until the age of 15. The dynamic in Sandi’s home was that all bad things were to be kept behind closed doors and so to the outside world her family looked happy and normal. To deal with the stress and abuse Sandi developed the same coping skills she learned from her caregivers, denial and repression. As an adult her life revolved around moving up the corporate ladder and fitness. Childhood wounds that had left an internal feeling that something was terribly wrong with her fueled her drive. If she could just “make it” in business and have the perfect body then perhaps that terrible feeling would go away. It didn’t work. Neither did drugs or alcohol. In 2005, after facing the abuse of her childhood Sandi walked away from drugs. She discovered Grief Recovery in 2006. The Outreach Program gave her the structure and tools to heal from the inner wounds. Sandi notes, "I am a survivor and I received help in many ways. One was therapy, one was Grief Recovery (which I know teach). I am a Life Coach and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist so I help many people who have suffered through child abuse, specifically sexual." She continues, "I work with people vocationally, relationally, emotionally, mentally and spiritually to support them in inner healing which always leads to a better quality of life and the ability to break the cycles of abuse. I also volunteer at an organization called Safe Passage which helps women to recover from domestic violence, many of those women are sexual abuse victims as well."
