Who else believes that minimum wage employees are overpaid enough???

    in Politics Conservative

We have our first Democratic nomination...Hilary Clinton.  I don't think this was such a big surprise.  What was her first political move; making the case for CEO pay vs middle class pay.  She goes to Chipolte and forgets to leave a tip.  I have heard all the arguments that Chipolte is not the kind of place where you leave a tip.  Neither is Subway but if they have a tip jar I leave a tip.  Since she is championing the middle class and better pay you would think leaving a tip would have been the first thing she would have done.  I can't believe that no one in her camp bothered to do it or even mention it to her to do.  I have been told that politics is more about public perception than the actual platform.  We have a CEO in Seattle who has decided to take a pay cut so his employees can receive better pay.  I don't have a problem since it is his company and he wants to provide an incentive to maintain his good employees but it sends the wrong idea to minimum wage workers who think they are worth more than their skills indicate.  There have been other police involved shootings and people are marching for justice.  You know how I feel about that but there are a few instances where I can see it being justified.

The ANDREA SHEA KING SHOW - Elizabeth Letchworth Chryst

    in Politics Conservative

The Corker-Menendez Bill requires Congress to approve any actions the President takes re: Iran.  Its a controversial piece of legislation that some are saying turns the Constitution on its head.  Does it?  Capitol Hill expert Elizabeth Letchworth Chryst analyzes the bill that reached bipartisan unanimous approved (19-0) by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.

And... the Department of Justice has announced that it will NOT prosecute IRS' Lois Lerner for Contempt of Congress.  The decision has caused outrage among justice-seeking organizations. What will/can Congress do about it, and what kind of impact will this decision have on Hillary Clinton's bid for the White House?

Yucca Mountain in Nevada is a federally designated nuclear waste site that has been sitting idle for 30 years, thanks to Harry Reid. Now that he's announced he won't run for Senate again, rendering him a lame duck, movement is already underway to shift the nuclear waste from the country's nuclear facilities to its rightful place in Nevada.  We discuss.

In historic face to face, Obama, Castro vow to turn the page

By JOSH LEDERMAN and JIM KUHNHENN

PANAMA CITY (AP) — President Barack Obama and Cuba's Raul Castro sat down together Saturday in the first formal meeting of the two country's leaders in a half-century, pledging to reach for the kind of peaceful relationship that has eluded their nations for generations.

"What we have both concluded is that we can disagree with a spirit of respect and civility," Obama said. "And over time, it is possible for us to turn the page and develop a new relationship between our two countries."In a small conference room in a Panama City convention center, the two sat side by side in a bid to inject fresh momentum into their months-old effort to restore diplomatic ties. Reflecting on the historic nature of the meeting, Obama said he felt it was time to try something new and to engage with both Cuba's government and its people.

Castro, for his part, said he agreed with everything Obama had said — a stunning statement in and of itself for the Cuban leader. But he added the caveat that they had "agreed to disagee" at times. Castro said he had told the Americans that Cuba was willing to discuss issues such as human rights and freedom of the press, maintaining that "everything can be on the table."

"We are disposed to talk about everything — with patience," Castro said in Spanish. "Some things we will agree with, and others we won't."

Not since 1958 have a U.S. and Cuban leader convened a substantial meeting.
