Diana Woods is founder and director of Spirit First, a nonprofit organization that promotes meditation and mindfulness, inclusiveness and peace. Diana leads meditations throughout the Washington, D.C., area, and builds and supports a community of meditators coming from every discipline and faith. She is a business trainer and motivational speaker, editor and writing coach. She entered the business world with a broom, as the cleaning lady for a small bank, and since those humble beginnings has addressed audiences in hundreds of cities throughout the United States and the United Kingdom. Diana continues a practice of serving as well as leading. Diana pursues a spiritual life that includes meditation and mindfulness and the observation and practice of non-aggression, non-attachment, and non-resistance.
After I talk with Diana about the work she's doing through her organization, "Spirit First," we will invite several of her poetry contest winners to read their winning poems on the air and perhaps discuss them a little. I've had a sneak peak at them, and trust me, they're really good!
