This week, we are joined by musician and activist Spiritchild. Spiritchild, a freedom singer from the south Bronx by way of Brooklyn, uses the arts to cultivate cultural revolution. As the founder of the "Movement In Motion" Artist & Activist Collective, he has integrated activism and hip hop music production. He also serves as the rhythmic poet of the hip hop fusion band "Mental Notes," where he uses his music to dissect the injustices facing the poor and oppressed, inspiring action on environmental and social justice in NYC and around the world.

This week, our topic is political prisoners. We'll be joined by Ralph Poynter, a founding member of the United Federation of Teachers. Presently, he supports his imprisoned wife, Lynne Stewart,who is currently battling stage four breast cancer because of the lack of care she is receiving while in prison. Ralph is pushing for her immediate release to receive urgent medical care needed in hopes to prolong her life. Also joining us is Matt Meyer, a native New York City-based educator, activist, and author, whose human rights work with the War Resisters International and the International Peace Research Association has taken him to speaking engagements on five continents. Iyanna and Matt will be co-hosting the NYC Book Launch Event for "Maroon The Implacable" on Friday, May 3rd between 7-9:00P
