Let's Talk: Explaining Horrific Events to Your Special Kid
Let's Discuss Explaining Horrific Events to Your Special Kid
This last week we witnessed and deeply felt the horrific events that unfolded in Boston and in Texas. How do these things effect your special person? How do you explain them or ... do you? We all know that our special family members are very sensitive to the feeling and conditions of the world around them. Do you think that these things effect them more than we know or understand? Do you think that they should be allowed to view the TV and all the news stories that are so disturbing? Do we attempt to protect them or enlighten them? How do you react in front of them??? Call me, login in to the chat room ... tell me. Great resource: http://www.themotherco.com/2012/12/talking-about-tough-news/

IN HOME Doctor Visits for Special Needs Kids- Ask Stefanie
Join host Stefanie Weiss in tonights interview: How IN HOME Doctor Visits Can Make An Anxious/Special Needs Child More Comfortable Families whose children have special needs face many everyday basic challenges. Going to the pediatrician for a check up can be a difficult task for a family with a child who has anxiety, OCD, ADHD, autism, bipolar disorder, and other related conditions. For children, being in the comfort of their own home can make a check up or sick visit much less stressful for the child AND their parents! Dr. Kulich is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, has been elected a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Academy of Home Care Physicians. Dr Kulich is the current president of the American Academy of Concierge Pediatricians.
