    King Harbor Sea Fair 2015

    in Current Events

Our guest this morning is Julie Coll from the King Harbor Boating Foundation.

A founder of the King Harbor Boating Foundation, Julie Coll, is currently Chairman of its Board of Directors, in addition to being an active member at King Harbor Yacht Club. As an avid and active participant in sailboat racing with a true passion for the sea, her interest in boating began as a teenager when she raced with her dad. Her love for sail boat racing wasn’t revived until 2006 after she finished raising her two daughters. It was then she became heavily involved with boats and racing, bringing her passion to life when she co-founded the King Harbor Sea Fair, a popular family excursion now in its eighth year. Over the years, Julie has served on the board of directors for the King Harbor Youth Foundation and the King Harbor Yacht Club. She has held many leadership positions within King Harbor Yacht Club and last year founded the Women’s Race Fleet. Due to her deep love and respect for the ocean, Julie champions and mentors new boaters and encourages safe boating practices and marine conservation. For the past 11 years, boating and the sea have been a great inspiration for her creative nature. As a glass artist, she has created magnificent glass art for which she has won many commissions.

Sea Fair is a free, family friendly event offering a unique opportunity to prepare for the summer boating season along with several fun and educational activities and this morning and Julie is going to tell us what we can expect at the event which takes place on Sunday, May  17 from 11 to 6 p.m.

    Grenadine Islands under the sea

    in Travel

The Grenadines are a haven for scuba divers, some of the world’s most spectacular aquatic scenery and much more.  Our first stop takes us to Bequia (pronounced Beck-way), the largest of the Grenadines.  Fresh from a dive at Devils Table with her dive buddy Cathy Sachs of Dive Bequia, Tonya and Cathy will recount their dive and why Bequia offers an unusual diving experience.  Cathy will also share how this island has changed her life. Then we’ll visit Bequia’s Park Bay, home to the Old Hegg Turtle Sanctuary, where a native retired skin-diving fisherman affectionately known as “Brother King”, has spent  more than a decade of his life to helping to conserve the endangered hawksbill turtle.  Brother King and his helpers monitor the beaches and nests here to protect mother turtles from poachers.  They also care for the baby hatchlings in the sanctuary during the turtles’ vulnerable years of life. Many of the hatchlings are released into a protective area just south of Bequia called Tobago Cays—our next stop.  Lesroy Noel is the Park Ranger for the Tobago Cays Marine Park which lies in the southern Grenadines.  The area comprises of five isles bordered by a giant horseshoe reef and teems with wildlife and wild sea turtles.  Finally, we’ll travel just a short distance by boat to the private Palm Island where we’ll catch up with the island’s resident artist and (retired) medical professional Dr. Patrick Chevallier.  Patrick is one of the world’s premiere undersea artists and his character is as charming and colorful as his artwork.

The Family and The Sea Movie out to beat Harry Potter!

    in Film

    episode 6 an itunes podcast

    Discuss actor roles

    FAQ 1

a frequently asked question regarding our Skype video call audition process Your audition (not your application) includes, buy, read and study the entire eScript. If your application is selected to audition, you will get an email with an audition form. This form will ask you to give us your Skype name, and it will ask you which part in our film you want to audition for, and there is a link to Amazon.com to get the eScript. The eScript is NOT the book 'Wild Wicked Wacky Ways which is also available on Amazon.com for $17. In order for our movie to be another Harry Potter box office bonamza, our book must get on the bestseller lists, about 20,000 sales per week.(if every auditioner to our movie series buys the $6 eScript we will have 'sold' about 1300 Escripts at $6, most of which goes to the distributor at Amazon.com. This has nothing to do with selling say 1 million hard novel type  books at $17. Our reason for requiring the reading of the entire eScript is solely to facilitate our unique, audition process;; not to sell 1000 eScripts. Some of the pin heads at Backstage have said we are only trying to sell eDcripts. Sour Grapes.

This series is the next Harry Potter!
