Join Earl and Hannah for a real conversation on how to get your voice heard in your market without spending a dime! Today there is so much going on with social media, networking events, volunteering, lunches, radio, websites, and advertisements. You could really go broke trying to be everything to everybody. Some years ago it was easy to be seen on Facebook. Today we have all become numb to the posts of others and most often if you are a small business owner it is a source of frustration. It was only a few decades ago that everyone was visiting your Myspace, before that it was easy to be visible on the web. And before that the best source of advertisement was the newspaper or a magazine. Who reads the newspaper anymore? Has society just grown so ADD that no messages are able to get through?
We all go through this from one time to another and we are here to tell you there are keys to being visible and you can start making your plan today! We will discuss all of the above and we will share with you some of the things that we did horribly wrong and some of the things we are doing that are going really right!

Set goals and dedicate time to engagement
In my experience, the trouble most businesses and brands have with proactively initiating conversations on social media is a perceived lack of time. It’s one more thing, and in some cases one more thing too many, to do on top of an already ambitious publication schedule, responding to comments and questions, and other marketing activity.
.1. Don’t waste time — yours or theirs
The main difference between social networking for business and social networking with your friends is that there is no time to waste. You are there to make connections and develop relationships that move you toward your business goals.
As social media expert and author Martha Giffen reminds us:
“Social media is all about engaging, but to be effective for your biz, it has to be treated as a marketing tool. And, it has to produce results. Otherwise, it’s just online chatting.” ~ Martha Giffen
2. Set goals for your business
You do have goals for your social media use, don’t you?
At the very least you should have some sort of goal around the number of meaningful connections you make each week. Setting measurable goals allows you to plan your social media time much more effectively.
So how do you build goodwill on a social media site?
People who should listen to this show are entrepreneurs,

What is the true benefit of social media for my business? Is it to increase my ranking (which could take forever) or is it to grow my lists? And why is that important? How do you use Twitter to do more than self promote? How do I get people to comment and how should I respond? How can I get more sharing, liking, or anything? I want to think of the end goal in mind and have a plan.
Janice thrives on coaching and mentoring people to help them achieve their personal and professional growth objectives. Over the last two decades, she has worked with and mentored hundreds of individuals in sales, presales, sales management, product management and marketing, and many have successfully moved into more senior roles within their organizations.
