Dognition; Dogs are THAT smart?
Michelle Huntting will be interviewing Dr. Brian Hare, a professor at Duke University in NC and published author. Deaf Dogs Rock!
Michelle Huntting will be interviewing Christina. Christina Lee works to educate shelters, rescues, breeders and deaf dog owners about how wonderful raising a deaf dog can be with consistent training and socialization. She is a full time blogger/writer who networks, promotes and lists deaf dogs available for adoption all over the United States. Christina is the founder of Deaf Dogs Rock a non-profit corporation she and her husband Chris Lee launched in 2011 after they adopted their first deaf boxer puppy Nitro. Their mission is to help deaf dog owners find information, training resources and bring together the deaf dog community to support and help each other. Christina and her deaf dog Nitro have been featured on ABC News, American Dog Magazine, Salem Times Dispatch, Roanoke Times and World News and many local magazines.
In 2012 DeafDogsRock.com was awarded the highest honor in Salt Lake City Utah with the BlogPaws Nose-to-Nose Pet Blogging and Social Media Award for Best Cause Blog of 2012. Christina lives on a farm in Virginia with her husband Chris, her two deaf boxers, three hearing dogs and three horses.

Leon Acord (actor/creator, Old Dogs New Tricks)
Leon was born on May 23 in Kokomo, Indiana, and grew up on several different farms in the general area. Moving frequently led Leon to develop a fantasy life at an early age, and when he wasn't on a tractor or a horse, he was reading, writing short plays and recording them on audio-cassette, and watching TV comedy of the late 1970s. It was then Leon realized acting was his destiny. He began what he calls "Musical-Comedy High School," acting in high-school and community-theatre productions throughout Indiana, such as Guys & Dolls, Arsenic & Old Lace, Brigadoon, Wait Until Dark and Li'l Abner.He also wrote, directed and acted in, along with a childhood friend, a series of short films called Wonder Twins, which he shot with his mother's home movie camera.
Following graduation, Leon attended Indiana University, where he studied theatre, English literature and journalism. Leon landed his first paying show-biz gig during this time--an amateur-night appearance at The Club Showbar in Indianapolis led to a six-month nightclub act. A couple years shy of legal drinking age, Leon hid out in the dressing room between sets.
