David Schaefers is the Senior Vice President of Franchise Development for Meineke Car Care Centers. He is responsible for the sale of Meineke opportunities and company-owned service centers. Prior to this, Schaefers worked for Econo-Lube N’Tune, Inc., serving as Director of Franchisee Relations, Vice President of Franchisee Development and then as President. Dave has nearly 20 years of experience within the automotive and franchise industry. Over the last 20 years he has been a multi unit franchise, VP of Development, President of a 200 unit automotive franchise company and is now responsible for the development of 6 automotive related brands. He has personally sold over 400 franchises, and has been involved with nearly 800 franchise transactions.
A Thousand Bucks to Become a Franchise Owner-
Have your heard of crowdfunding? It is possible through crowdfunding to own part of a franchise for $1,000. We are meeting with Mandy Calara, the CEO and Founder at CrowdFranchise, Forever Brands, and Forever Yogurt. Founded in November 2013, CrowdFranchise is a crowdfunding platform full of savvy community investors interested in owning a piece of a brand in their local community. As opposed to traditional crowdfunding sites, CrowdFranchise will award franchises to the investors, thus providing them with active equity versus just donations. CrowdFranchise plans to have 1,000 units up for crowdfunding by the end of 2014.

As of March 2014 the enterprise had 35 locations in 16 states including a location in Singapore. Rewarding its best growth year yet the January 2014 edition of Entrepreneur Magazine's Franchise 500 ranked Sir Grout in the Top 500 franchises. Sir Grout's nearest competitor(s) have fallen off the list entirely. He spent nearly 20 years, in the consumer automotive aftermarket. Most recently he led Interdynamics, Inc as President and CEO, served on the Board of Directors and led a rapid turnaround of a previously family owned company. It's brands and product enjoyed a 50%+ share of market.
Before that, as Vice President, International and member of senior leadership team for Honeywell International’s CPG Group he was responsible for all its brands and 13 overseas business units across Asia, Europe and Mexico. He worked on well known brands such as Prestone, Fram, Autolite, Simoniz & Holts.
