As-Salaam Alaikum ! Ramadan Mubarak ! The most honorable Elijah Muhammad said that seventy five percent of the work was with the female. And according to the honorable minister Louis Farrakhan, the most honorable Elijah Muhammad strived mightily to make something of the Black woman. So be a witness and hear the life giving teachings of the most honorable Elijah Muhammad thru the testimonies of four sisters that share the bond of Islam but have walked a different path. The topic is "Ramadan: A sisters talk." The four panelist are: Sister Bertha Muhammad: sister Bertha is a sister of Cuban descent and joined the nation of Islam while attending Rutgers University. She is a registered believer at Muhammad mosque number 85 in New Brunswick Nj where she labored as a student MGT captain and served in the ministry class. In addition to training the women of God, she has been married for four years and was born and raised in the Nation of Islam. She can highlight the life for young Muslim women while illuminating the struggles they face in a work that tells them to take off their clothes and surrender their values. Sister Lafonda Muhammad: sister Lafonda attends Muhammad mosque #12 out of Philadelphia Pennsylvania. (Still working) Sister Aisha Muhammad: sister aishah is the former national MGT captain of the Nation of Islam. She resides in Chicago, IL. ASA~ Family, I want to thank Sister Nisa Islam Muhammad for covering the Month of Ramadan on the Hereafter Is Now Network. When I asked Our Sister to host for me, I received an immediate yes response from her. I wasn't sure what programs she would present, I was just anxious to hear. My thoughts were, since the theme is Uniting the Ummah, maybe that's what the shows would be about. Well, because of her committment to other events, she said' "I'm gonna have the youth host for the Month of Ramadan".. They were all EXTRAORDINARY, I am so happy and proud of them all in the manner in which they represented Islam, so I want to thank Sister Nisa and her husband Brother Jalil who also supported the series! Please enjoy this Ramadan Tribute as we close the Month of Ramadan ! Eid Mubarak !
Many people in recovery struggle with both alcohol AND food disorders. This issue is so common you often hear food addiction referred to as a "sister" addiction to alcoholism.
We have had many requests for a show that addresses the particular challenges for people in recovery who struggle with both, so we are thrilled to welcome Alison Ross, LMFT to our show!
Alison is a licensed psychotherapist and the Founder of Center for Eating Recovery where she helps women and men of all ages heal their relationship with food and become body-confident. In addition to her work at the Center, she is a consultant for Harmony Place a drug and alcohol treatment center, and formerly Beit T’Shuvah, where she helps to create an environment in which women can heal their relationship with food and body while adjusting to sobriety.
On the show, Alison and Carissa, an Eating Coach at the Center, discuss three cultural narratives that keep us stuck in food addiction and body image distress and how to break free and get healthy from the inside-out.
Join the Blue Clique as we discuss The Spiritual Symbolism in the movie, 'Lucy' as well as a discussion on the whimsical and inspirational book, "Orbiting the Giant Hairball. We will explore how creative types can escape the gravitational pull of the Status quo, and hold on to your creative essence. How can you prevent creating your own hairballs as you embark on your own business.
