Top Hollywood casting director Lisa London talks about her book From Start to Stardom. Lisa has discovered and/or cast such famous actors and actresses as Jennifer Aniston, Jonah Hill, Emma Stone, Miley Cyrus, Giovanni Ribisi, Victoria Justice, Selena Gomez, Megan Hilty, Ryan Phillippe, Mark Ruffalo, Mariska Hargitay and many others. Although discovering new talent for over 20 years, Lisa began experiencing Hollywood earlier during her childhood years when she accompanied her famous father, television director Jerry London, to the sets. Even then, she had an eye for talent as she watched well-known actors work.
Rochell Goodrich, who worked with Lisa on From Start to Stardom, joins in the conversation about this helpuful book that explains what one needs to know to have the best shot at stardom. Some of the questions answered in From Start to Stardom: The Casting Director’s Guide for Aspiring Actors are:
How do you get started as an actor?
How do you make the most of your headshots and resume?
When and how do you get an agent or manager?
Which is more important, charisma or credits?
What are the steps involved in auditioning?
How do you find resources regardless of where you live?
What does a casting director look for?
Why do some actors get call backs and most do not?

Writing is not only what Nancy Christie does—on a deeper level, it’s really what she is. Writing is not just how she makes her living—it’s how she lives her life.
Fiction is Christie's passion, and in addition to her fiction collection, Traveling Left of Center, and two short story e-books, Annabelle and Alice in Wonderland (all published by Pixel Hall Press), her short stories can be found in literary publications such as Hypertext, Full of Crow, Fiction365, Red Fez, Wanderings, The Chaffin Journal, and Xtreme.
A member of the American Society of Journalists and Authors, Christie teaches workshops at writing conferences and schools across the country and hosts the monthly Monday Night Writers group in Canfield, Ohio.

Welcome to WRITERS ROUND TABLE. I am your host Karen Vaughan. This month I am priveledged to talk to Amanda M. Thrasher, author and publisher. Amanda is the author of THE MUSHROOM PATCH books and YA books specifically THE GREENLEE PROJECT. Tune in, grab the beverage or snack of your choice and enjoy.
I am a writer and have two books on Amazon Kindle. It is a great way for new authors to get published, but the one thing that is missing is getting your book noticed. That is why I have created a company that will allow writers, musicians, or anyone with any type of talent to work together to get their talents noticed.
A little about me. I am working on getting my Bachelors degree in Creative Writing for Entertainment at Full Sail University. I have already made some great connections at the school and in Hollywood. Full Sail University has graduates and students that work on most of the movies that are made. It is a great school if you are looking to get into the entertainment field.
Now back to my company and how we can help you. If you sign up for a year, you will receive free promotion for that year. There is no charge to sign up and we do not ask for a credit card or any type of payment information. I believe that when a company says it is offering a free service, then it needs to be able to back it up by not requiring payment information to sign up. After your year is up with our company is up, and you feel that no progress has been made, then all you have to do is not sign up for another year no questions asked. There is no risk involved.
During your first year, all we ask is that you help other members by liking their Facebook pages, Youtube videos, follow on Twitter, and visit their sites. All members are required to promote at least 25 other members a day. Just think of how much traffic you will receive when others are promoting you. There will be several contests during the year to win prizes. Some of the prizes are a free year of the service. One important note, we are not requiring you to buy anyone's books on the Kindle. You are only promoting.
