Most of 2016 to this point has been us waiting for bigger fights to get made and hanging onto every negotiation update. It's okay, though. The boxing world almost always slows down early in the year. Buck up, everyone.

From "Canelo" Alvarez vs Amir Khan being announced, to Gennady Golovkin vs Dominic Wade, Andre Ward vs Sullivan Barrera, Carl Frampton vs Scott Quigg, the heavyweights and more... Campbell will show us the way.

    Boxing History: Light Heavyweight Rematches

    in Sports

This weekend's HBO main event is a rematch between Sergey Kovalev and Jean Pascal that nobody really asked for and few seem to want. There has been some weird press conference drama, but otherwise we could just do without it. Fighters do have to fight, though.

As an accompaniment to this light heavyweight rematch, Aris Pina of Compubox and The Fight City's Patrick Connor, both total suckers fo fight history, talk about other notable rematches at 175 pounds.

From Roy Jones Jr. vs Montell Griffin II to Dennis Andries vs Jeff Harding II, and back around again to Matthew Saad Muhammad vs Marvin Johnson II... Plus a lot more.

    Ep 514 ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG Wrap-up & Preview

    in Sports

The Pound4Pound Kings of Boxing Broadcast Journalism. ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG is the world's number 1 boxing podcast, and blogtalkradio's original boxing program.

Amir Khan is showing he may have a serious future in boxing promotion after he is knocked out for the final time in the ring. Khan believes, or claims to believe his scheduled fight with Canelo Alvarez is more highly anticipated than the Pacquiao vs Mayweather fight. Khan has even claimed Canelo is a more difficult fight than Pacquiao or Mayweather.

Amir Khan is a deluded knockout waiting to happen, and the champion he faces is a propped-up manufactered star with a padded record consisting of robbery victories. Canelo vs Khan is boxing's first so-called "super-fight" that involves two competitiors who are nowhere near the top of their respective weight classes, as they attempt to deceive the sports world into believing this fight features the world's number 1 welterweight and number 1 middleweight doing battle.

Do you prefer your frauds with British or Mexican accents? Would you like your next champion in red or brown? Would you like fries with that? Please pull forward to the window.

Ep 513 It Khan Not Be | Canelo Alvarez vs Amir Khan BOXiNG Preview

    in Sports

The Pound4Pound Kings of Boxing Broadcast Journalism. ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG is the world's number 1 boxing podcast, and blogtalkradio's original boxing program.

Many boxing observers are accusing Amir Khan's father, Shah Khan of signing his own son's death warrant by negotiation for an agreeing to a fight with lineal middleweight title-holder, Saul "Canelo" Alvarez. The jump up in weight is widely considered too great for Khan who moves up a full weight class and a pound, to what has become known as "Canelo weight."

Even as "middleweight champion," Canelo is back to doing what he does best, facing smaller challengers nobody in his weight class is worried about.

ONTHEGRiND BOXiNG breaks down the fight in the aftermath along with the latest boxing news, commentary, predictions and analysis from around the boxing world.
