There are quite a few popular trends going around right now. You have the bad trends such as the "fire challenge", the "pass out" challenge and the "smack cam". Then you have the good trends such as the "ice bucket" challenge and the "homeless" challenge. Unfortunately, there are other trends that have been started because of senseless acts of violence. Tune in and call in to share your thoughts regarding "Hands Up, Don't Shoot". How do you feel about the situation surrounding this new declaration for fair treatment. We will also talk about the other situations involving police brutality. You call in at (914)338-0665.
It happens almost like clockwork. Every month the mainstream media picks a situation out of thousands of injustices to highlight. Each month another officer sworn to uphold the law gets caught on camera shooting, brutally beating, or harassing someone with their wide variety of weaponry. The people they choose fall into one of four categories: 1) teen to young adult 2) elderly 3) working class to impoverished 4) brown to black complexion. With each month the same thing happens in the community: bitter outrage, nonviolent protests, people swearing that this will not happen again that their actions, their picket signs, their words, will change things... until, like clockwork, it happens again. Next 2RAW4TV we ponder the possibilities- what if the people became revolutionary instead of reactionary? What if the police really feared doing harm to the citizens? What would it look like if, instead of being victimized, people decided to SHOOT FIRST?

Hands Up Don't Shoot is Ferguson's call to Justice. Justice for Mike Brown. Justice in the courts now and hereafter. Judicial, economic, and social justice is being attacked daily in communities like Ferguson all acorss America. It is the community of Ferguson that have stood up, with hands up and made their mark as the thumbprint of what an America of equality should look like. Ferguson asks for Justice in the courts, Justice in employment opportunities, pay, benefits, and social justice with adequate representation in community services like policing, boards, legislators. Social equality must be reflected in schools, housing, medical institutions, roads and grant and loan opportunities from community banking to grow community businesses.
Ferguson residents who critized the non arrest of the shooter has been treated as terrorists. Ferguson residents who supports the shooter has been treated as all American citizens should be treated. Police departments from several areas participated in a practice exercise on use of warfare equipment against those who object to a live being taken with no arrest. The draw down on American citizens was absolutely unnecessary. It was extreme, war like, and I have not doubt that community will need therapy for years to come. Those actions have been internalized and will show up in the daily lives of the community of Ferguson if not across America. America must take this hands up symbol as a surrender to completely repair what ails this country. The remnants of slavery that has embedded itself socially, economically and in the judicial system

Hands up, don't shoot! it is a call to bring out the tanks now?
Hands up, don't shoot is a rally cry across America
What does Ferguson police officers want from it's citizens.
There has to be something that is worse to Ferguson police department than taking the life of an unarmed man who begged for his life.
There has to be more than Ferguson involved in the goings on we are witnessing in Ferguson today.
Ferguson police department looks as if they are angry. Strange how nothing happens until they show up.
Think about it. Ferguson could be planting people in the crowd.
