Michelle Rowan is the president of Franchise Business Review, a market research and consulting company specializing in franchisee and customer satisfaction, as well as franchise relations issues. After working in the hospitality and telecommunications industries, she joined Franchise Business Review in 2005 as the first full-time employee. The Outlet stores (Sears Outlet) are designed to provide customers with in-store and online access to purchase new, one-of-a-kind, out-of-carton, discontinued, obsolete, used, reconditioned, overstocked and scratched and dented products across a broad assortment of merchandise categories, including home appliances, apparel, mattresses, sporting goods, tools and lawn and garden equipment at prices that are significantly lower than manufacturers’ suggested list prices.
Sears Outlet is the oldest of the four store formats and was established in 1968. The newest format, Sears Home Appliance Showroom, was introduced in late 2007. The majority of its stores are Sears Hometown Stores, a format which grew from the legacy Sears catalog stores and celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2013.

Mary Kennedy Thompson became president of Mr. Rooter Corporation in October 2006. Mary came to Mr. Rooter from national franchisor Cookies by Design, where she was president of the franchisor corporation. She came into the franchising industry as a franchisee first when in 1994, when she opened a Cookies by Design® franchise in Austin, Texas. In the next three years she opened two additional locations. As a multi-unit franchise owner, Mary led the company in market penetration and sales, earning awards for “Top Performer, “Outstanding Customer Service” and “Masters Award”.
In 2003 she earned her certified Franchise Executive certification from the International Franchise Association. Promoted to President of the company in 2004, Mary’s initiatives resulted in alliances with universal Studios, a new web site that provided an immediate increase in sales, and renewed franchisee/franchisor relations.
At the end of her first year as president of Mr. Rooter Corporation, U.S. Business Review selected Mary as one of its 2007 Editor’s Choice Executives of the Year. Today Mr. Rooter is the fastest growing plumbing franchise with more than 336 locations worldwide.
In 2014 Mary was promoted to Executive Vice President of the Dwyer Group while also retaining her current role as President of Mr. Rooter. As Executive Vice President she provides support to the CEO in the daily activities and operations of the company and its subsidiary brands.

Suzanne is the owner of the Royal Oak location for Goin' Postal, an independent postal and shipping center and document management service. We will talk about do's, don'ts and deadlines about getting our holiday gifts to their destinations in advance of the holidays. We will also ask her expertise with shipping and logistics for our enterpreneur driven and small businesses. In addition, Suzanne will talk about her own experiences as small business owner, franchisee and entrepreneur.
We are meeting with Charles Hibble, CEO of the idropped franchise opportunity. iDropped provides fast, on-site mobile device repair for the most popular brands of mobile devices with a specialization in Apple and the Samsung Galaxy series.
