It goes without saying that the world as we know it has changed. Mother Earth seems to be reeling from globalization. Nations are in upheaval with the influx of new immigrants and differing religious beliefs, mores and customs are causing conflict rather than understanding.
If you care about the state of the world today, you will want to be sure to hear what one of our most renowned and favorite guests, Senator Adlai E. Stevenson III, has to say as he shares his thoughts on these vitally important topics.
He's back! Even Stevens brings the funny to love and relationships. He's ready to make you laugh.
Lady Jaz The Entertainer plays the Funk.

In writing his new book "Last Stand: Ted Turner's Quest to Save a Troubled Planet," environmental journalist Todd Wilkinson ventured deeper into the inner space of Ted Turner than any other before him. That inner space reveals a Turner who has largely been unknown to most people. Last Stand has won national critical acclaim and has been widely adopted as an essential reading for conservation organizations, universities, government policy makers, businesses, and book clubs across the country. But as many say, "Last Stand" actually reads like an adventure story.
Todd, who started his career nearly 30 years ago as a violent crime reporter in Chicago, first met Ted in 1992 in Montana where Turner has his flagship ranch, the Flying D, and where Todd lives today. For the book Todd interviewed a number of noteworthy individuals including four Nobel Peace Prize laureates, Jane Fonda, Sen. Sam Nunn and many other major figures. Todd has been on a national tour promoting Last Stand and he joins us today from the wild American West.

This week, PWR SLAM! pay tribute to a friend of wrestling, and we interview two wrestlers whose paths have crossed. We begin by paying tribute to long time manager and NWA promoter Ed Chuman. Ed loved wrestling and wresting loved Ed. We will be joined by people who were touched by Ed, both on a regional and a national level. We hope that we will do justice to the memory of a wonderful man. Next we will talk to Jon Bolen. Jon is a bodybuilder who turned to wresting as the result of a chance meeting. In 2004 he won the American TNA Gut Check and did a short stint with the company. From there he went to sign a developmental deal with WWE. During this period he teamed with a guy named Silverback Ryan Reed. We'll find out if anything ever became of that guy and what Jon is currently up to. After that, we will talk to a tag team specialist and current crash test dummy, Chase Stevens. Chase has also spent time in both TNA and WWE developmental. We will talk about his partners, his feud with Shane Douglas and his current work on the independent scene. As always, our chat room will be open for your questions and comments as well as our phone lines. Please remember calls are subject to time restrictions and may be screened for content. Also remember you MUST be called in to the After Party to hear the show in its entirety or you will have to wait until the show goes archived 1/15. This journey to LOVE: THE SAINT AND THE SEEKER began in 1992 at the Rio+20 Summit.
"As l learned more about the environment and the health of the planet, I got more active. In June 2012, I was part of a 40,000 person delegation of parliamentarians, mayors, UN officials, CEO’s and civil society leaders, more than 50 heads of state and close to 500 ministers for the Rio+20 Summit on Sustainable Development. 700 commitments for $513 billion were pledged to build a sustainable future for the planet earth.
While at the summit, I spoke of my search for a land that was doing it right; a sustainable global model. Many years earlier, I found myself called to the Kingdom of Bhutan. I feel in love with an ancient land of Kings and Queens, beloved by their people."
Christina Stevens also serves on the Board of Directors of Ted Turner’s Captain Planet Foundation whose mission is to give the next generation of environmental stewards an active understanding and love for the natural world in which they live. Its unique program of funding and support of hands-on environmental projects is designed to encourage innovative initiatives that inspire and empower youth around the world as they work individually and collectively creating environmental solutions in their homes, schools and communities.
Much like her journey to meet and film Mother Teresa, big dreams start small, such as being more green and adopting more sustainable practices in one’s life. Yet no change can come about without a vision. That vision needs passion to ignite it and action to bring it into reality. Sometimes merely focusing on an idea, thinking it through and sharing it gives it life, power and momentum.
