Good morning church! Today we are reading Romans Chapter #10. Yes, we started at the begining of the Gospels and made it this far. Don't give up now, let's keep going!!!
Hey, don't get Paul wrong. He really wants all the non-Christ loving Jews to be saved. He knows that they really love God, they're just a tiny bit mixed up about a couple important things. For example, Jews mainly focus on the saving power of Jewish law. They think living by the rules of the Torah is going to get them in good with God. Wrong, Paul says. All that is over with. Christ is the law's end all be all. He's the fulfillment of everything it says, in fact. Game. Set. Match. Now, all you have to do is say you believe in Jesus and then actually believe those words in your heart and you're golden. It's that simple. See? There isn't really any difference between Jews and Gentiles. God will save them both… if they only call on him. Okay, but the big problem is that you can't call on someone you don't believe in. We're guessing it's because you keep dialing the wrong number. And why don't the Jews believe? Paul's glad you asked. And now, because the Jewish people have turned their back on the good news, God is giving salvation away to the Gentiles. Meanwhile, the non-believing Jews are being totally disobedient and rude. Come on, guys. Get with the program already. Thanks to www.shmoop.com
Last week we discussed, at great length, the controversial issue of judging others.
Tonight's topic will be just as thought-provoking and controversial. This evening we will be dealing with the questions of who Christ came to save and who was the Gospel message of hope, redemption and salvation meant for? Were His life and His words merely for the chosen people, the Jews, or is the Good News of Christ intended for the world, as a whole?

For the past few weeks we have been going over some of the most significant teachings of Yahshua/Jesus, found in the book of St. Matthew.
Thus far, we have concentrated our study on examining the lessons taught in the fifth chapter of the Gospel according to St. Matthew.
Previously, we have noted that the standards established by our Lord were much more stringent than those mentioned in the Mosiac laws of the Old Testatment. For example, we learned that the Old Law stated that only if you literally murder someone would you be guilty of murder; but Christ said, that if you allow anger to fester and grow, in your heart, and if you call someone, empty-headed, moron, or stupid, or you refer to someon as a fool,.. you have committed the act of murder already, punishable by spending eternity in hell.
Also, the Old law said that only the act of aduiltery would bring the charge of adultery against you, but Yahshua/Jesus said, "if you look at a woman to lust after her, you have already committed adultery in your heart."
Tonight we will be discussing Christ's standards concerning retaliation, giving and Christian love.
As we conclude our study on the life-changing teachings of the Christ, we will be reading from His teachings from St. Matthew 25th.
Tonight we will be learning the lessons of the TEN VIRGINS, THE PARABLE OF THE TALENTS, AND THE RIGHT KIND OF LIVING..

What can guarantee our salvation? Nothing but the teachings of Yahshua. What can make us whole, perfected and holy? Nothing but the teachings of Yahshua. If each of us would study and meditate and live by certain teachings of Christ, our lives will be richer, happier, and more complete; and our eternal hope of living with Him forever will be more of a certainty.

Tonight we are going to be continuing our study on the life-changing teachings of the Christ. This evening's lesson will come from the pages of the Gospel of St. Matthew Chapter 7.
We will be discussing the following topics:
FAITHFUL PRAYER; AN ETHICAL LIFE; A CROSSROADS DECISION; THE FRUITS OF FALSEHOOD; SINCERE DEVOTION; THE TRUE FOUNDATION.
My son, do not allow your mind to stare downward, but rather, let it look by means of the light at things above. For the light will always come from above. Even if it (the mind) is upon the earth, let it seek to pursue the things above. Enlighten your mind with the light of heaven, so that you may turn to the light of heaven.
Do not tire of knocking on the door of reason, and do not cease walking in the way of Christ. Walk in it so that you may receive rest from your labors. If you walk in another way, there will be no profit in it. For also those who walk in the broad way will go down at their end to the perdition of the mire. For the Underworld is open wide for the soul, and the place of perdition is broad. Accept Christ, the narrow way. For he is oppressed and bears affliction for your sin.
O soul, persistent one, in what ignorance you exist! For who is your guide into the darkness? How many likenesses did Christ take on because of you! Although he was God, he was found among men as a man. He descended to the Underworld. He released the children of death. They were in travail, as the scripture of God has said. And he sealed up the (very) heart of it (the Underworld). And he broke its (the Underworld's) strong bows completely. And when all the powers had seen him, they fled, so that he might bring you, wretched one, up from the Abyss, and might die for you as a ransom for your sin. He saved you from the strong hand of the Underworld.
But you, yourself, difficult (though it be) give to him your fundamental assent with (even so much as) a hint that he may take you up with joy! Now the fundamental choice, which is humility of heart, is the gift of Christ. A contrite heart is the acceptable sacrifice. If you humble yourself, you will be greatly exalted; and if you exalt yourself, you will be exceedingly humbled.
