"Dealing With Tragedy: What To Tell Your Children"
So much has been happening in the news lately, and now is the time to know how to talk with your children about it. Tom Stevens, LPC-S, RPT-S can help you learn what to say and NOT say. Also, you can call in to ask your very own question about the topic. Children experience tragedy and trauma in very a different way than adults. This means we need to talk with them in a specific way, and learn to listen for the signs of concern. Don't miss this show that can help your child process tragedy in the healthiest way possible.

Repairing Rainbows: Surviving Unspeakable Tragedy
Are you dealing with grief after a loss? Join Grief Recovery Specialist, Audrey Pellicano R.N., on Giving Grief a Voice and meet Lynda Fishman, a clinical social worker, inspirational speaker, author of “Repairing Rainbows” and survivor of an unspeakable personal tragedy.
When Lynda was 13 years old, her mother and two sisters were killed in an Air Canada plane crash, bound for Los Angeles. Her mother was 39; her sisters were 8 and 11.
Lynda’s father was 44 years old at the time, and having to bury a wife and two daughters understandably traumatized him. He never recovered, so really, she lost her dad that day too.
When people meet Lynda, they see a woman who leads a busy, meaningful life. Lynda and her husband Barry have been married for 33 years. They have three grown children and a new grandson. They have both had successful careers; they are heavily involved in charity events. Lynda considers herself ordinary, fortunate and blessed; however, most ordinary people cannot tell tales of tragedy, struggle, strength and triumph in the same way that Lynda can. Much of what Lynda has lived through would have emotionally destroyed an ordinary person.
Lynda is proof that people can survive, and thrive, after tragedy.

Inner Voice in House- Inspiring Love in the face of Tragedy
Tonight Inner Voice is In House. I will be discussing what we as individual's and as a global community can do in the face of tragedy. Events like the shootings at the Boston Marathon don't happen in isolation they have been fueled in an environment of secrets, isolation and misinformation. This can set energy into motion that has a power and velocity of it's own, and that can spiral quickly and build momentum. There are things we can do to add fire to it and things we can do to put it out. Tonight Inner Voice will offer stories of support and ideas for growth and healing. If you have suggestions on this feel free to call in and share them. Inner Voice asks that you make sure what you share is helpful, and proactive. In times like these that energy is soo very needed! That number is (646) 595-3440.

Meditation by Soul for Times Of Tragedy
The tragic events we witness Monday, (April 15) reminds us all to be mindful of how fragile as well as how robust life is. The more chaos allowed ‘inside’ creates seeds for more chaos ‘outside.’ While the media will churn the Boston USA event into apocalyptic proportions, kindly remember to do what it takes to be grounded and centered. Need help? Reach out. Able to help, offer it.
Thank you to IntentionRadio.Com for allowing Soul Dancer (the host of this show) to share this grounding meditation on BlogTalk Radio.
